How did your parents meet each other?

My parents and my FH's mom (single parent) have never met in the 10 years we have been together. Our moms do exchange cards and gifts and such at Christmas. They will

likely meet for the first time on our wedding weekend.

My parents had a Christmas Party a few years ago and invited FH's parents.

So this may sound weird but our parents originally met at a funeral home. Lol. My Inlaws own a funeral home in our city that my parents have used before so they had met before we started dating. Then formally they met when we (FH and I) went to our freshman homecoming in high school. We didn't have a license so his parents drive to my house to pick me up and take pictures. Lol. Obviously a little different had we been older.

FH parents came to my college graduation so that's when they met my parents

We were together (and living together) for a couple years before they met each other. I had to give my dad a list of approved topics to chat about (FHs parents are super conservative, my dad is definitely the opposite). We have been together for 7 years almost and they have met a few times. FHs family lives 3 hours away from us so its not that often they get to come down.

I totally misread your title at first. The parents' meeting was boring -- we all met up for lunch when we were driving though my in-laws area.

The story of how my parents met is way better. My mom saw my dad doing tequila shots by the bar in his fringed leather jacket and was quite taken by him. My dad initially had his eye on my mom's sister because she had bigger boobs, but that would have been a horrible match.

Our parents met five years into our relationship when we started hosting Christmas Eve dinner.

FHs parents are in Illinois, we live and my parents are in CT. They met each other at our house warming party 4 years ago. We had been dating about 2 years. That's the only interaction they ever had and will have until the wedding

My mom came shopping with me one day and I asked FMIL if she wanted to come and that's how they met. My mom hates everyone, even me sometimes lol and she loves FMIL. Now whenever there's any type of family function, each other's families are included. I love it. Less stress for me.

My folks came in for Mother's Day this year ( we're out of state)and we hosted a BBQ for them to all meet. FH's family is local.

Our parents had met briefly during move in/out at college (FH and I met at college). We grew up in different towns, about an hour and a half apart. We all got lunch together the day we graduated, and after we got engaged my mom has gone to dinner with FH's parents a few times (my parents are in a long-distance marriage currently, so my dad hasn't gone). FH's parents can be a little much, so they haven't gotten together in a while.

Our parents met each other probably at the worst time ever. It was after Hurricane Sandy and mine and fh's apartment was completely flooded and we lost majority of our belongings. We moved in with my parents for about 3-4 months in order to renovate our apartment and replace our belongings. Both my parents and fh's mom were helping us sort through everything in our apartment and my mom had invited fh's mom over for dinner. Since then they have hung out many times we always throw parties for birthdays and I always host Christmas so they spent much time together. However, fh's dad lives in Florida and he and my parents will be meeting the week of the wedding.

When his mother dropped him off at my house to see a movie with me because we couldn't drive yet lol oh the joys of being 14 again.

Our parents met after my bridal shower. H's parents drove in to surprise me and we scrambled to find something to do afterwords since they had never met and we all had previous plans. They ended up coming over to my parents' house for a little while.

My parents have never met my MIL as she refused to attend our wedding. (Her loss.) My parents already knew my FIL as DH & I were really good friends long before we were ever in a relationship.

We took our moms out together for mother's day! My parents are divorced and my dad lives in a different town so they haven't met him.

FH's entire family lives in England. Last fall, his mom and stepdad were here visiting us for 2 weeks, so my parents drove down for the day (about 2 hours each way) to meet them. Then, hurricane Matthew came in the following weekend, and my parents and grandparents were evacuated from their city and had to come back to stay with us, and FH's parents, which made for a really interesting weekend. Talk about a full house. Thank goodness everyone got along so well!! ...and that we had enough guest rooms. In the spring, my parents are going to England with us and will meet the rest of FH's family. I'm so excited to show them around his beautiful hometown. I'm so thankful that everything has gone smoothly so far, and I'm hopeful that it will continue that way as our families get to know each other!

But to answer your question, our parents didn't meet until our college graduation - 4 years into the relationship. Then it was another 3 years until they saw each other again. Long distance blues!!
