Is/was your first dance music a song that meant something to you as a couple, or did you look at different songs and choose it based on the lyrics even if its not a song that was important to you before...? I will either find songs that are special to me and my FH but they're too fast paced or the words aren't quite right. Or I'll find a song where the words are perfect but its not a song we've really listened to before.

What's more important to you??

We chose "Sunshine" by G. Love and Special Sauce. One time we were driving and Jesse was digging through his big ole collection of CDs and searching for this one CD. He put it in and fast forwarded to this one song and said, 'This is my song to you." It was "Sunshine" and was so sweet. When he proposed to me, he had them play this song over the system at the bar we were at. So it's definitely gotta be the song we dance to, right!

We were going back and forth between some Jason Mraz and some DMB songs for a while. Then, when we were watching some old scrubs episodes, the finale came on with Peter Gabriel's "Book of Love" and I went "that's it, that's our song;"

We are also doing a waltz. But FH and I actually started taking dance lessons before we got engaged. It was all his idea too (apparently as a kid growing up in Germany he had to take ballroom dance classes). Our dance also won't be choreographed. We know enough steps we can make it up. That way we won't be caught off guard if a step is messed.

It's very hard to find a good song in 3/4 time. Possibly thinking "It is you" by Dana Glover, most know it from Shrek.
