How did you find your first dance song?

We were originally thinking of using our actual first dance song for our renewal, which was Heaven by Warrant.

But we found Somewhere Only We Know by Keane, actually via our son, and liked it better. And he seems proud to have helped, so bonus lol.

We're still working on it. We have our dance lesson on Saturday, so whatever steps we can master will dictate the style of music we dance to.

I asked FH what he wanted and he said "Can't Help Fallin in Love" from Elvis. I said "yeah, that works". We figured it was a slower song but was fairly quick so we wouldn't be up there dancing to a six minute song.

Overdone, but "All of Me." I sing it to FH ALL THE TIME, and routinely change the words to be something silly. What's neat is that my sister's best friend is an a cappella singer, and she is going to sing the song for the first dance!

My DH and I love HIMYM. We had little touches of it throughout like our "Legen-Married" coasters. We couldn't think of a first dance song and that night we were watching HIMYM and it was the first time Ted heard the "mother's voice" singing "La Vie En Rose." My DH just popped open his laptop and we found a version we liked and it was perfect.

So many people were surprised and asked us about it later. It was nice to not have a "typical" first dance song

@Unaware I love that song too! I'm sure my FH have also vetoed it because we have extremely different music tastes. In the grand scheme of things, I feel like the song we dance to is not going to be that important. We'll see what happens!
