How did you decide: what kind of wedding?

He's fine with whatever - as long as his family is there, we get our date and I'm happy.

I, however, am completely lost.

More fitting to my nature - dinner at the local pub then pool/dj/drinks after

Traditional and not sure if I'd regret missing it - sit down meal at a nice hotel then an evening reception.

FH appears not fussed about either way - as long as he ends up married, is fed and gets to spend the day with family.

Did anyone else encounter this indecisiveness in their planning and how did they resolve it? Feeling a little ridiculous about not being able to make a damn decision, especially since whenever someone asks what we're thinking of for the wedding we can only shrug and prompt this seriously uncomfortable silence.

We based the type of wedding on our personalities. For years I wanted to get married in Vegas. He never wanted that. I wanted a smaller wedding, non-traditional wedding. We both love to travel and knew we didn't want the wedding were we lived. So that left us to a destination wedding. For the ease of family and friends we decided to keep the destination in the U.S. We chose our date based on when the kids will be out of school. So we decided on a beach wedding in June. Now that we think about it... A beach wedding in June! OMG what were we thinking... Just praying that it will not be too unbearably hot...SMH. Too late now!

We are having a traditional Catholic Church Wedding with a sit down dinner and dancing to follow. I have a huge family and his is fairly large as well, we are both quite close to our extended families and wanted them all to be there to celebrate with us. First we talked about a small intimate wedding with our immediate families and few friends only (less then 50 people) dinner at a restaurant or smaller venue. He wanted to do the big wedding because he said we may regret it if we don't have a big wedding with everyone there.

We are very family oriented so that is what helped us decide. We have chosen a colour but not an exact one yet, Dark blue (unsure what shade I'm waiting to pick out bridemaids dresses), blush pink and silver accents. We aren't doing a theme really just sort of a romance type theme with some aviation features in the decorating as that is how we met - we both fly recreationally.
