We dated in high school and split up for a couple years (kids thinking grass is greener). Ended up getting back together and now planning our dream wedding that we wanted in high school!! We chose our date based on our high school anniversary date!

We chose black Friday because I have always wanted a fall/winter wedding and Thanks Giving has always been a huge event for our family to get together. Most people already have that Friday off annnnnd think about it.....the rehearsal dinner is THANKS GIVING! how frickin cute!

My FH and I race during the summers so a summer wedding was out, racing ends in September and I wanted a date where I could possibly still do an out door wedding, so October 1st 2022 is our date.

I first had to see what dates we have off from school (I’m a teacher) I know we have off some days in November and 11/11/22 happens to be teacher convention so we have off Thursday and Friday. That time off will allow me to do a long weekend destination wedding.

I originally wanted our wedding date to be on our 5 year anniversary date. However it falls on a Wednesday and it wasn’t going to be easy for family. We decided on a date in June, that fell in between birthdays. Almost right in the middle so we could celebrate everyone and each other.

My fiancé and I didn’t pick a date, we’re going to the courthouse to get married on the day we started dating and that weekend will be followed with the reception. We started our journey on a certain day and we plan to keep the same day as special as we’ve always celebrated it. ❤️ 04.04.2021

We knew what our time frame would be to plan and the first date was too close. So we went with our second choice, fall. We preferred November but there are too many commitments for everyone in general so that was out. The September didn’t fell fall enough and then end of October I would have felt the pressure to have a spooky Halloween wedding which wouldn’t have fit both of us. So beginning of October was the time. We then googled the perspective dates for S&Gs so went with what felt right.

We knew we wanted a December wedding. And we are very busy so we knew we would need a good bit of time to plan. So we decided 2022. Then closed my eyes and pointed to a day on the calendar. And well the 3rd was where it landed.

We originally planned for a fall wedding since we’re in the south and we didn’t want to be dying during our wedding but once we seen our venue, it made us change it to a spring wedding and we decided on May 7th since the middle of the month was booked and we didn’t want it to be on memorial weekend.

We picked 5/29/22, a Sunday on Memorial Day Weekend. Most of our guests are 2 or more hours away and will have this long weekend off. We are getting married 10 minutes from the beach and I got a great deal on

    a very nice hotel!

I had wanted a fall wedding (although I live in the Bay Area so fall is our summer), and we wanted to stay away from any holidays or big birthdays so it would be easier for people to arrange and we wouldn't be competing with family events or vacations. Because we live in the Bay and are having an outdoor wedding, we also wanted to time it early enough to avoid smoke from wildfires and the rainy season.
We also knew we wanted a Saturday, even though it's more expensive, since most guests would have to fly to our location and we didn't want to make travel/scheduling difficult for them. Our venue ended up being available October 1, 2022!

My fiancé proposed on 5/8/2021 even though I thought it was a good idea to go back to the proposal destination and have the wedding the same date. St. Thomas would have just been tooo hot and I always had my wedding colors in my head. Hunter green doesn’t sit well with me in the summer . So I flipped the proposal date around to 8/5.

So our anniversary is December 9th 2017! We wanted a summer wedding, so we started to look at June and July!
We have alot of other things going on in July, including both our birthdays, so I just thought July looked pretty full! So then it was June, and June is half of December, when you think about it, so we looked at the 9th but that's on a Thursday so we picked the weekend and came up with the 11th!
We will be together for 4 and a half years when we get married! How Did You Decide On a Wedding Date? 1

We picked January, since it might be the least busiest month for us as a blended family. Between various Holidays sprinkled around birthdays and school and sports activities jammed all in between, January is a quieter month. We went with the 22nd only because the date matched the year so '1-22-22' should be an easy date remember.
