How did you decide between two (or more) florists?

Kimpy, on October 25, 2011 at 1:57 PM Posted in Planning 0 11

I am pretty torn between two! I had both consultations. I really like both places, and they both have good reviews.

I would love to hear how you decided on your florist or what you think!

My situation:

One is $700. 2 delivery locations (I only need 2). They have done work with our family before. They seemed to be more friendly. They sent me flowers yesterday saying "Thank you for visiting us, we hope to be part of your big day". (see picture). *Edit* Yes I can see the day before

The second is $800 (after $50 off and 10% reception referral discount.) They deliver at 3 locations (I only need 2). They are doing the flowers for my centerpieces which come with the reception. I can see the flowers the day before.

One reason I am still debating about the more expensive place is because I can match the flowers in the centerpieces with my flowers. I don't know if that is worth the not-as-friendly attitude and $100 more. My parents say it is FH & my decision. He says I need to decide =)

Went by her spot at a bride show. She was out doing a wedding that day, but had a really good friend fill in for her at the show. I thought everything looked amazing. She has excellent reviews as well and tries to save us money.

Let the second one that you have an existing offer for $100 less and see if they will come down on their price. If not then go with the first and since you can view the centerpieces the day before have a florist from the first go with you to view them (if possible) to ensure they can coordinate your bouquets with the centerpieces.

I'd go with the first one; customer service is really key, and I'm sure they can coordinate your bouquet with the centerpieces. I am a big fan of showing my clients how much I appreciate them, like they did for you. The difference in price is just a bonus!

I would go with the first one. They've worked with your family before, they are less expensive, and they have great customer service. I wouldn't worry about matching your bouquets to the centerpiece as no one will even notice that.

First one. I barely saw my bouquet for the rest of the evening.

I'd go with the first one, I chose mine because she had done some work for a friend, she's very friendly and I had seen her work so it was best and safer for me.

Maybe interview another - cuz the one you didn't like shouldn't be on the consideration table :-) I can't see me ever giving business to someone I didn't like.

    Thanks everyone!

I like them both! The one just was nicer customer service wise =) I think I am going to go with the first one. I want to go in again and try to see if I can see a couple more bouquets they have made up for actual weddings. I asked my Mom if I should schedule another place for a consult and she said NO hahaha. She likes these two and doesn't want another one she never heard of.

I dont like the idea of flowers for my wedding coming from two different florists.

There is a LOT of variations between shades of reds, pinks, and other colors. So I would be leaning towards the second UNLESS you are ordering something very obvious/your centerpieces and bouquet dont match...

Very true; your bouquet and centerpieces don't need to match. You might want to do that if you are doing something very, very stylized like ALL white roses or deep purple callas, but if everything is similar and beautiful, I doubt that anyone will connect the dots that way.
