How did you choose your colors?

I'm getting married as late as 2022 but I want to move it up. My problem is figuring out which colors I want. I want sunflowers everywhere but I keep talking myself out of other colors. How do you decide?

I Love sunflowers and you can pair with blue. I went to a wedding and they have beautiful sunflowers every wear and her wedding colors were Cobalt blue and whits.

groomsmen had on cobalt suit jackets white pants groom had on white tux Jacket blue tie, hanky BM had cobalt dressed with white sash and sunflower bouquets. Look on pinterest for ideas but if you like sunflowers build around them.

We picked the color of the bridesmaids dresses and then picked colors that complemented that.

We're having a Sunrise wedding, so our colors are based on the colors found in a sunrise, with our primary color being "orange"

Navy blue is a great color for sunflowers. My wedding is dusty blue and yellow. We are having sunflowers and daisies. Burgundy looks good with sunflowers too.

Have you looked at African Daisies, also known as Gerbera? They come in a wide variety of bold colors that complement sunflowers, are widely available as cut flowers, but even just for inspiration it is worth pulling up some images . With Rosacea, true, you want to avoid dusky rose to soft red in quantity. Many African Daisies have two bands of color, one a ring of red, russet, or burgundy, but dominated by another color,Ike a brighter bold yellow, Sienna, or burnt orange or bittersweet orange. Or a bold purple
All nice contrasts that look great with the golden yellow of Sunflowers.

I decided season first love summer. June is everyone’s birthdays in our family so we went with July. He loves fireworks but halls charge double on holidays so we went with the weekend after the 4th. I said I wanted dusty rose and he can pick the color. Well because it’s in July we went with navy. Together the colors look beautiful. Just gotta talk things out and about each other of what you two like.

They come in 50 or more color varieties, almost half with a touch of yellow, so you can see color combinations just for inspiration of colors, not necessarily to use the flowers .

I’m also doing a Sunflower outdoor bbq wedding! I started focusing more on the theme, rather than colors. We are doing rustic, and toying with whether or not to do western. If we do western, then we might add in a bit of brown and blue.
Mostly I’m focusing on White, Yellow, and Burlap. I’m not doing bridesmaids but my daughters are going to be flower girls and will wear pale yellow.

We thought about the vibes/theme/feel we wanted and then thought of the colors that go with it. We wanted coastal elegance, so I started looking at different decor. I happened across a very shiny oyster shell. On the inside it was dusty blue, mauve, ivory/cream... and now those are our wedding colors. Smiley smile

Our engagement party is going to be an I Do BBQ this summer. We're decorating everything in blue gingham and sunflowers! I think blue would be a great color for your wedding!

We got married in the fall, so we wanted deep, rich fall colors. We had a semi-formal, evening wedding, so we went with navy and burnt orange as our main colors (orange is my favorite color!), which accents of burgundy and golds. We got married on a vineyard, so our colors really matched the season and the scenery of our wedding.

My FH and I have the same favorite color (purple), so we picked a shade and then went with complementary colors.

You could decide on other features you know you want at your wedding and decide the color palette later on, when more details are filled in. My color palette actually changed a bit as planning progressed.

We chose our colors when we went to our venue and the rep asked what color did we picked. I immediately said mint green and he agreed. we went with this color because we wanted something elegant and simple and it went with the decor that we are using at the venue which is a pretty beige.

I chose my colors for multiple reasons 1 is the color of the water on lakes oceans ponds all bodies of water if they are clean. 2 is because the same reason I chose my wedding date because of my twin boys who are no longer with us. 3 because it's one of my favorite colors. 4 it's a main color that majority men like so it don't matter who I marry more than likely they will want a shade of blue.

I’m not sure we ever talked about it! We were engaged in Ireland, he is Irish, and both of us love green. I looked at some color palates on Pinterest for green and gold, once we decided on our wedding venue our choice was obvious, a deep rich green (almost like an emerald) and gold with accents in black and ivory lace. It will look perfect with our venue, and bonus, I get an excuse to get things in my favorite colors and fabrics!
