How did you choose your bridesmaids?

Mine are my sisters, sister inlaw, aunt,and my fh niece. I just wanted family only just to keep it small

I am an introvert and have a small amount of very close friends as opposed to a large circle....all 4 of them made the cut lol

I just didn't choose to have any bridesmaids. You see, I have a lot of close family and friends. My cousins, my aunt and my BFFs. It would be a hassle having that many bridesmaids, but excluding people wouldn't work because I am close with all of them. And do not even get me started on MOH. I don't have bridesmaids and I am ok with it.

I asked my aunt who raised me as maid of honor so as to cut out any arguments on who the maid of honor should be. Thank god I don't have a lot of female friends. I asked my soon to be sister in law, not because she'll be my sister in law, just because I like her and she's my friend.

I asked my soon to be cousins-in-law in my bridal party, once again, not because they are going to be my cousins-in-law, because I enjoy their presence. I'm not sure how my aunt will get along with one of the bridesmaids, but I'll figure it out.

I have 5 lovely bridesmaids now. I chose them because they are my friends, no matter how many times my aunt has screamed at them, they were still my friends.

Looks never came into play and that is petty to do so.


Three ladies were chosen based on being the closest innermost supportive social circle who are the first ones to contact to celebrate the relationship with fiancé or to vent about it. Also keeping in mind that not everyone considers being a bridesmaid to be an honor at all and prefers to be a guest, and being mindful of budgets.
