How did you break in your wedding shoes?

TheFutureMrsD, on November 11, 2013 at 12:48 AM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 9

Hey! I just pulled my wedding shoes out of the closet to practice walking in them. They're white 4" peep toe heels- adorable, but very much not my typical shoe! I am in college in Massachusetts (I'm from California originally) and I bought the shoes before I am to campus but I HAD to bring them because I knew if I didn't practice, something would go wrong! But I have two questions; first, how can I keep my toes from being pinched in the little peep toe hole (my big toe on my left foot keeps turning purple when I walk in them for too long!) second, whats the best way to keep my feet from coming out of the shoes when I walk? If possible, I'd like to find solutions that don't involve buying special pads or anything because I'm kind of really super broke. Haha! Thanks you guys!

(This is the link to what my shoes look like since I haven't taken any pictures yet! Smiley laugh

To break in shoes you;re supposed to walk around for 30 mins at a time with damp socks, it helps them to mold to your feet. just put them somewhere cool and dry afterwards to let them dry off. that should help with the peep toe problem. as far as falling off the back of your heel idk how to fix that without buying something... =/

The little pads that go inside the back of the heel (to keep your foot from sliding up) and the little pads that go under the ball of your foot (to keep your toe from being rammed out the front) are not expensive. Look for Dr. Scholl at your local pharmacy.

Thats why i didnt buy peeptoe, i bought ones with straps across the toes. They sell the pads pretty cheap at Walmart, i think they are like $2.99 for the ones that go under the ball of your foot

Honestly...just walking around in them for short periods of time will break them in. An old pageant trick was vacuuming in heels. But if you wear them every day they will form to your feet and eventually your big toe won't have an issue.

Amanda, that's exactly what I do. I do light housework in them... with little footies on of course. After all, I don't want toe marks in them before getting photographed on our wedding day! FH and I have also been practicing our first dance in them. Basically, you'll want to do everything in them that you'll do on your wedding day. Dance, sit, stand, walk, etc.
