How close together are you wearing your corset dress?

I put my dress on layaway at Davids Bridal in march. I payed it off a week ago and went to go get it. I put it on again to see it with the slip I was buying. I bought it knowing full well the consultant said she thought I needed a bigger size. I don't like it when corsets are as close as they say...

I put my dress on layaway at Davids Bridal in march. I payed it off a week ago and went to go get it. I put it on again to see it with the slip I was buying. I bought it knowing full well the consultant said she thought I needed a bigger size. I don't like it when corsets are as close as they say they should be. My grandmother agreed that she liked it my way better. As soon as I came out of the dressing room one of the consultants made a rather rude face and her eyes got wide. She was acting like it was five sizes too small, which it isn't. This has made me wonder how everyone else is wearing their corset dress. I've added a picture of what the back of mine looked like. Anyone agree with the consultant that it's too small or was she just being rude?

I like corsets tied tighter so they give a nice hour glass shape. otherwise I find that it looks like it's not tied up properly because it can't be tied any tighter, possibly because the dress is too small.
