How can I lose weight in my arms?

Panda Bride, on October 13, 2010 at 5:29 PM Posted in Planning 0 14

I want to lose weight all over, but at the very least, I want to lose some in my arms. My dress actually looks fine with my mid section and butt as it is now, but my arms make me look like a body builder Smiley sad What can I do? My friend photoshopped what I would look like with smaller arms, she left my tummy alone. It makes a HUGE difference!

The shake weight!! It sounds crazy, the commercials are stupid but it works. You don't even have to order it online now, most Walgreens has a "as seen on TV" section with it. It works, and only takes a commerical break or two a day!!

Oh, I must mention that I can't really lift weights/do push ups/pull ups with my left arm because of a birth injury.

Lynley I can't do those either due of my left arm as well. Yoga really help to tone your arms. I grew up doing kick boxing and swimming and soccer that my arms was always thin and toned.

You can TONE a specific area like that, but targeted weight loss is a myth. Get to the gym and start doing resistance training! Yoga will tone you all over too.

Like Analy said, there's no way to lose weight in your arms...you can exercise to lose weight everywhere, and you can do exercises to tone your arms, but nothing's going to make your arms smaller unless you do some cardio to lose weight everywhere. Up side: you have plenty of time for that!

I wish I could do the same, I can deal with everything else but I hate my arms, they're like the fattest part of my body

Glad to see Analy N and Rosie pointed out the weight loss myth. I didn't even notice the difference in photoshopped arm until I re-read your post. If you don't want to lose weight all over...love the ones you have! I don't see your arms as massive Really, had I not been looking at the arms closely, I wouldn't have seen a difference. I didn't see a difference the first time. Your dress has a great cut that draws attention towards the middle.

If weights aren't an option there may still be other things you can do,perhaps air boxing or using a stability ball to do different exercises?

Cardio gets most of the fat off our bodies-strength training can help but mostly it just defines and tones what is under the fat.

You could maybe try a spray tan which would have a sliming effect.

Lynley, with your arm injury, can you swim? I really want to tone my arms too and I started swimming. It's really helped tone me up a little. If you do, go slow though. I hurt my shoulder multiple times because I did too much too soon, but it got better soon.

Agreed with natalie i didnt notice the difference until reading it! You look beautiful Smiley smile but remember that weight loss is 75% diet, it sucks i know!! Try and eat things good for your body and your body will react to it, then if you add light excercise it will help!
