How big is your wedding?

Out of curiosity, how many people are you inviting to your wedding? I'm inviting 200 and people think that's large, and I'm just wondering what everyone else has in mind!

175 are coming. For a Greek wedding, that’s really small but that’s all the venue can fit!

We are inviting 65 and expecting most of them. I'll be a little surprised if we end up under 50. Invites are going out soon, so we'll see!

    I couldn’t imagine inviting 200 people. We have 91 and I feel like it’s a lot.

We wanted 100, but ended up with a list of 118. I'm angry about it.

When we were making an initial guest list it was 100 and then when I was going over it again it's up to about 180 and I'm expecting to add a few more. Probably gonna have to get a little cutthroat with the guest list soon

That’s really large!! Each one of those people is bringing a guest most likely so you are having 400 people at your wedding. If you include kids it will be even more. We invited around 50. We had 140 people at our wedding. It’s fine to have a huge wedding if that’s what you want and you can afford to properly host them. We would not have been able to afford more people. As it was our bar tab alone was $7,400.

If everyone brings a plus one it'll probably be about 180. We are hoping for 150. I'm still bummed that most of my family won't be able to make it due to the distance (we're having a second reception in my home state for my family that can't come). My FH has a large family. I still wish we could have a smaller wedding. If we could have had a smaller wedding, like say 50 people, that would have been a dream come true! Smiley smile

Our wedding was three weeks ago...we invited 254, ended up with 209, and that was after adding a few plus ones that weren't on the original list. I don't really think it's all that big, to me 100 is a pretty small wedding, but our family's weddings have always been pretty big. Also, there were no guests who we felt like "we don't even know this person" (except some plus ones, of course). I just mean there were no obligatory invites, these were family and friends who we care about and wanted to have there.

It all depends, we have 175 on our guest list which is considered bigger but it’s 90% close family. My fiancé’s dad is 1 of 11. We are both at the age where we grew up with our older and younger cousins in big family style. We cut fraternity brothers he hasn’t seen in 10 years and also drew the line by not having kids because we want an adult evening and that helps keep such a large group still somewhat intimate.
If you have a bunch of people you don’t really know but people outside of you and your fiancé (parents) think need to be there then that’s up to you to say yes or cut down.
It all depends on who you want there, if you have 200 people you want to share your day with then do it up.
Don’t let people tell you your wedding is to big to be special.

Yeah, once it hits the 100's I feel like that makes it a big party. We were trying to have a small wedding, but we have a lot of family. So far our list is 210, including children.. We're expecting 150 to actually attend. We'll see, our wedding is May 30th, 2020!

Our goal is 175 because that’s what our ceremony venue holds but we’re about to send out save the dates and with all of the plus ones and couples it’s gonna be like 220. I feel like that’s way too many people. Majority of them are coming from his family’s side.
