Hi all! As the title suggests, I wanted to see what everyone was doing in regards to feeding your vendors in your wedding day. We have a photographer, his assistant, a band, a wedding planner, and her assistant that we need to feed. When we contacted our resort that is holding the dinner they gave us a 25% discount per head for each vendor. That is expensive! We are trying to come up with a vendor meal instead. Has anyone done this? Or what is everyone doing to feed their vendors? Thanks!

Our caterer does vendor meals for a cheaper per plate price. They still get the same options as guests but they do not get apps or open bar so the cost is lower.

It does seem like a lot, but the price will be worth the convenience.

Our vendors are eating the same food as our guests-a plated meal and I will just ask them for their selection before counts are due. We are also planning to seat them at our guest tables. I live in a small town so I already know that our DJ knows my aunt and grandmother, our pastor and his wife (who will receive an invitation as well) know many of the guests there. It isn't set in stone yet, but that's what we are leaning towards as of now.

They're eating the same food as the guests, at the same price. I wouldn't have it any other way.

Our vendors are 1/2 off and they can pick their meal from the same menu as all the other guests. I've never heard of a separate meal for vendors.

Our DJ contract specifically state a 'hot' meal, photography/video contract states we don't have to provide them a meal but would take 45 minute break to go get food and eat, we're feeding them.

Our venue feed vendors same meal as guests at 50% discount.

None of my vendor contracts mention a meal, perhaps because none of them are specifically "wedding" vendors because I'm getting married in a small rural area and they don't do this frequently.

However, I'm including them in my final headcount for the caterer because they deserve a good, hot meal.

You should check with your vendors. My photographer's contract requires that she receive the same meal as guests. I just consider it part of the cost of hiring the vendors.

My caterer feeds the vendors for free because that's just how they do things. She stated that she builds relationships that way with other vendors.

Our venue has 2 options, they can eat off the buffet for regular cost or we can order them sandwiches for $35.00 per person. We are going with them eating off the buffet.

Vendors are people too! They're working to make your day perfect, so they deserve to eat a good meal.

Our venue has vendor meals for $40. No idea what will be served to them but I will ask when the time comes. It's about 50% the cost of regular guest.

My vendors will be eating the same as the guests, at 50% off and without the charge of the bar package.

Even if a vendor contract doesn't specifically require a "hot" meal, they will be working hard and deserve to be fed a substantial meal, not a cold boxed sandwich and some chips.

Since they are working, they shouldn't be charged for the bar or cocktail hour like the rest of the guests, which is sounds like your venue is suggesting, so I would follow-up with them about that. It is possible they mean 25% of just the meal cost.

Ours are just eating off our buffet and we have extra seats/an extra table they're eating at. It's the same price as our regular meals, but it's worth it to make sure they treat us well!

My venue offers either a box lunch or hot meal for either $45 or $50 per vendor. This is definitely worth it. As others have said you want to treat your vendors well as they are the ones who help your day be the one of your dreams.
