How accurate is accuweather??

jewles322, on February 15, 2015 at 9:47 AM Posted in Planning 0 12

About 2 days ago I check the weather for my day and accuweather tells me it will be sunny and 73, couldn't be more perfect !!!

Today I check and accuweather says 58 and periods of rain and clouds!! Nooooooo!! That can't happen ! I have an outside ceremony and want to take pics at this beautiful location outside. Plus we picked venue because of the amazing view. Clouds ruin the view !! Should I be freaking out over this ??

So praying the weather goes back to that 73 and sunny .

It's going to change every day. The weathermen are a hit or miss. Hope it's sunny and 73 for you!

If your wedding really isn't until 3/22 like your info says....no weather channel will be accurate at this point. The whole week before my wedding said it was going to rain all day, the day before my wedding it changed and ended up changing to rain the night before and 90 and sunny all day of my wedding.

You're over a month out...it is going to change a lot. I wouldn't start looking at the weather until you're two weeks out at the most.

Fingers crossed for 73 and sunny for you!

It's still over a month away. It's impossible to get an accurate reading for then. And weather is not something you can control, so no reason to worry about it. That's why we didn't do an outside ceremony.

Don't even start looking at the weather until maybe two weeks before the wedding just for your own sanity if you check it every day for the next month you are going to go mad. Watch your local channel that will probably be the most "accurate" weather.

I found it accurate, but it also constantly changed. Please have a backup plan in place!

When I was looking, it changed a lot until a week beforehand-- also forecasted rain and that's what it did Smiley sad

I wouldn't let yourself get stressed out about it, but it would be a good idea to confirm what your backup is with the venue now (we thought we knew what our backup was, but we were wrong and so it was a big cluster-f the day before the wedding). Also, on the bright side, if it DOES rain, then you will have amazing lighting outdoors for pictures. Just make sure you have cute umbrellas, too Smiley tongue

Accuweather is pretty accurate but only for like a week in advance. NO ONE is accurate a month in advance. They can't fully predict that.

Don't start looking now; look the week before and then go with it. Have a great plan B in place and relax!!!

You can't start looking now. At best you might be able to get a half way decent idea about a WEEK before. Like others have said, make sure you have a plan B in case it is cold/rainy.

I am in Indiana and we cannot predict the weather one HOUR to the next 90% of the time. My wedding is in October, and on October 25, 2014 when we had our e-pics done it was 75 degrees and sunny - the following Friday was Halloween and we got 2 inches of snow.

Why are you looking now? your wedding is over a month away. i really wouldn't suggest looking at the wedding until the week before. and even then... weather can change. unfortunately, it's the one thing we can't control. so work on everything else.
