Does anyone have any suggestions on nice venues in Houston/Spring/Woodlands area that wouldn't be too pricey? I've been looking around but nothing is really catching my eye. I am half tempted to have it in my dads backyard.

FH and I went to look at Belle Rose and we were not impressed.

The lady was kind of rude, and basically told us we had to do everything ourselves and she was not our coordinator nor would she help us the day of if something went wrong.

The "smaller" location is just a house and the guests have to stand during the entire ceremony, the "larger" location is just a building that they convert from ceremony to reception. It was pretty pricey and you can only use their food...

FH and I are using Heather's Glen in Conroe. For Saturday night wedding for just under 10K we get veggie/fruit buffet, chocolate fountain, full dinner, DJ, minister, coordinator/planner, decorations, bar tender, both cakes, ceremony and reception location on the same lot, for 140 guests.

We just have to come up with the flowers and photographer!! They have been nothing but awesome since I've been working with them!! I'm also getting one of the more expensive packages. They have some brunch weddings awesome prices!

@christina- i agree with your comments about Belle Rose.. The facicity itsself is beautiful but the woman obviously doesnt want to make any money cause shes rude, forgets about events.. i was astonished that she has a fully functioning but told me that no one is allowed to use it cause she doesnt want to clean.. wtf?

im glad you liked heathers glen! as for me i wasnt too impressed with it because the chapel has some major damage on the celing, the reception area was only outdoors and super small, and lastly all the decorations around the area looked as if it needed a fresh coat of paint..

@ Brittany - when did you look at heather's glen? Last time I visited was in January and it looked pretty great -- I didn't notice damage to the chapel and the reception area is now indoor with large French doors that can be opened onto a patio area for an indoor/outdoor reception if needed.

Above discussions are really of great help to me. It provided me very good outline to choose the best and inexpensive wedding venue for my marriage. My wedding place was House Plantation and it is one of the Texas's best wedding venue as per my experience. The most good thing here is that, they have all inclusive facilities and you need not to worry about outside arrangements. It was within my budget.

To my practical experience I will suggest you the name of House Plantation in Texas, just 15 kms from Houston. It is an all inclusive wedding venue and it will be in your budget.

This might be an old post but still, I want to share my views on the subject as myself was married near Houston. House Plantation will be best wedding venue for the purpose, Set in 18 acres close to Houston, its lakes and views are stunning. It is an all-inclusive wedding venue and you need not make separate arrangements for the caterers etc. It'll be within your budget as per your requirement.
