Do you think it is necessary to book hotels for the wedding party? I know it would make it more fun, but I’m trying to decide whether I really need it or not. Any thoughts?

I don't think it's necessary for you to book the hotel rooms for your bridal party. When they accepted their role in your wedding party they understood that there would be some cost involved for them. Although it would be a very kind gesture, it isn't required or expected by your wedding party.
