Hotel welcome bags?

Hi Kittens!

Are any of you doing hotel welcome bags? I like the idea of doing at least a welcome letter with a schedule of events and things to do in the area. However, our wedding is sort of a destination wedding (people traveling about 200 miles on average to get there). I do not have the budget to do a fancy welcome bag. If I were to do one, I'd like to keep it at $3 or less per person. Any thoughts?

Charlene C, who is the Etsy seller you're getting that kit/bundle from? I love it!

@bemyguest, apparently she can not... that's fine, I like sharing our cat photos!

At this point no, I don't think I'm doing any extra bags, I am spending money elsewhere like alcohol.

Spend money where it matters. This isn't there.

Waste of time and money. We did it. Most hotels have lotsa cutesy krappola for guests in the rooms as it is. Save $ and put it toward upgrading your appetizers, nicer invitations or a longer open bar.

Thank you all for your input (and cat photos)! I am doing a nice welcome letter that I created in InDesign and I'm printing it on some nice paper I already had at home. I think we're going to upgrade our hotel that we're staying in or just save the money.

Happy planning to all of you!

We did them, but we only had a handful of OOT guests. We put locally made wine and chocolates. We also put a letter with a list of places to eat and things to do. That was especially appreciated by families with children.

We had them for our guests, but we had like 40ish rooms held bc it was an out of town wedding. I even took some for our room lol.

Yes I'm having them. Every bag I've gotten is water and snacks! So you can def do $3 or less per person.

Unfortunately we have to lug our stuff out of county for destination wedding so we can't do water bottles, food or heavy/meltable food items. We're doing sunscreen, aloe, chapstick, small transportable snacks, Advil, mints.

A small card like you mentioned with a schedule or local ideas would be nice too.

My FMIL is pushing us to do them, so I'm going to pick my battles. I'm including a brand of local soda with a variety named after the neighborhood where FH and I live, an issue of TimeOut, a sample size thing of Advil, a subway map, some bagel cracker/pita chip thingies from a local baker and bottles of water from Costco. The most expensive thing in there is the local soda, which we may skip.
