Anyone getting married in a hotel? Lots of hotels have huge rooms dedicated to weddings and/or receptions. I'm getting married at church but reception at Hyatt Place. It's beautiful

Congratulations! I'm not getting married in a hotel, but I have been to many hotel weddings. Very beautiful.

Congratulations! I'm getting married at a hotel too! I love that it's a "one stop shop" - we are doing the ceremony there as well. Good luck!

I'm getting married at a hotel. It's the easiest option all around for me. My FH and I aren't getting married in a church and can't get married outside due to the weather and cold temps in November. So we chose a hotel near us.

Awesome! Glad to know I am not the only one!!

Do any of you ladies have restrictions on how loud music can be? Worried that I'll be bothering guests that are resting ahahahaha kinda weird when I think of it.

    Congratulations!

We're having a church ceremony, but our reception is at a hotel! It was the best option for us, since we're planning from out of state, and it was all-inclusive. I am stupid excited about it...it's actually both a hotel and an art museum, and it's in a converted historic Ford factory (FH's Dad used to built factories for Ford, so he's super excited about that).

Yep! At one of the Marriotts where I live. I love that it's "all inclusive", and guests don't have to go anywhere after the reception if they don't want to! Our reception space is beautiful, I would have liked something more "bridal" for our ceremony space, but it's included in the price for the reception, so really no point in spending extra for a ceremony location plus it saves people from having to move locations. Just trying to figure out how to dress up their boardroom/conference room that will be our ceremony spot.

Yes. A hundred year old hotel with exquisite décor, 5-star service and food, and heavily discounted rooms for our guests. We had our ceremony in a smaller ballroom. They had one thing that was a must for me - high ceilings in the ballroom. There was also only one event that night, because we booked both ballrooms, so we had the foyer room and bathrooms, to ourselves. Over 100 guests stayed overnight, most of whom didn't have to travel, but welcomed the convenience.

The smaller ballroom was over the larger ballroom (reception), so I don't know if loudness would effect anyone? My Mom can't stand loud noise, so when she contracted with the band we chose, she requested they play at half volume.

They gave the ladies of the bridal party a free suite, for getting ready, small sandwiches, fruit and water all for free. And being a full service hotel, we didn't have to worry about setting up tables and chairs and clean-up. They could also quickly accommodate a guest who was allergic to nuts, which I didn't find out until the cocktail hour.

@OP - The hotel should have decibel restrictions available for your DJ. I worked at a hotel that had a dome on the 14th floor, and when the DJ was too loud, the rooms on the 12th floor could hear it. The DJ's were always really understanding of our other guests and needing to turn it down.

I love the idea of a hotel wedding, but FH and I both work in hotels, so the it was the last place we wanted to be on our wedding day. But I've seen some really beautiful hotel weddings.

@krclark7--I know what hotel you are talking about! I'm in the hotel industry in this city, too. Crazy small world!

When I got engaged my colleagues in the sales department were trying to get me to hold the wedding at our property. Heck no! I think hotel weddings are a great value and can be completely gorgeous, but I had no interest in getting married at work. Eesh!

Yes! We are getting married at a church and then the reception is at a hotel near by. I chose this location because my dad works for the group that owns the hotel, and we are getting a great deal, and its all inclusive. I've been to several weddings here and they did a great job!
