HOSTESS....WHAT SHOULD THEY WEAR???

I originally told my hostess they could wear any style dress they want as long as the colors are the same. I saw pics of the hostess in the same dress as bridesmaids and I must admit it was CUTE! What are you ladies asking your Hostess to wear?

The hostess role is very important. I do consider those girls to be part of the bridal party. We wanted to cap how many bridesmaids and groomsmen we had forthe sake of our pictures, but we each had two more friends that were important and we wanted them to share in our day.

So... for me... they are an intricate part of the bridal party. After they complete their hostess/ usher duties, but before my bridesmaids/ groomsmen walk in, I am having the hostesses and ushers escort themselves to the front row to sit by my parents and my fiance's parents.

The hostesses and ushers are also sitting at the head table with the rest of the bridal party. Yes... I need their help on that day, but I don't want them to feel like an after thought or cheap labor. I want them to enjoy the day as much as the rest of the bridal party.

I didn't realize it until now that having hostesses was a culture thing. My hostesses are super excited and decided they wanted to dress alike and order formal dresses. Our hostesses will also be seated on the 1st or 2nd row during the ceremony and will assists guests during the reception.

I hadn't thought about this, but I'm thinking perhaps she can wear one of the accent colors....perhaps a blush pink and gold.

After first I told my hostesses to wear a silver knee length dress of their choice but I later decided against that. I did not want some of my ladies looking like they where going to a club and I did not want them to have the same color as the wedding party. I saw a nice dress for $50 and it had everyone size and it was light turquoise color. My hostesses will be setting the tone wedding ceremony and the reception. The ushers are wearing the same as the groomsmen but a different color shirt.
