Just in case you're not... a honeymoon can be ANYTHING. You could just hole up in a cozy romantic bed&breakfast ordering food in, drinking lots of wine, and just being happy newlyweds. That sounds almost perfect!
We're renting a cabin in the NC mountains for the week after our wedding. The cabin was inexpensive, and we'll spend the week hiking and cycling in the mountains, maybe even a zipline tour and a spa day. We're spending well under $2000.
I love that we are seeing the "snarky" side of sweet as pie Jamie-Lynn tonight! Not that you actually are being snarky or mean Jamie-Lynn... You are just always, honestly, the NICEST poster! I love it. We can tell you've had it LOL
We went to riviera maya for $1800 including flights for 7 days 6 nights.
-go in shoulder season. We went in November right before peak (Jan-Apr) and saved about 40% it only rained one day so we did the spa that day.
-fly direct. Anywhere your home airport flies direct to will be cheaper because it's a common flight and likely a hub for a major airline. We chose riviera maya because Delta flew direct there from our location
- buy excursions ahead of time. We got a fabulous deal on an all day sightseeing and booze cruise for $50 each that was $100 each at the resort
-do all inclusive so you know the price up front. A honeymoon might be $1500 but you could easily spend $100 a day or more in meals.
