Also depends what time of year you'd be going. Friends did New Hampshire and Maine in October and it was unreal

Hey girl! I am a fellow Indianapolis bride.

Are you wanting to drive to places nearby or do more of a road-trip honeymoon?

My husband and I drove about 750 miles on our honeymoon. We flew to San Francisco, stayed a few days, then drove to Yosemite National Park where we hiked and stayed a few days, then drove to Monterey where we explored the coast of Cali and stayed a few days before heading back to San Francisco. It was tiring to not stay in the same place for more than a night but we are happy with the variety of things we got to see/experience!

If you are wanting to stay near Indiana, Gatlinburg is a great nearby choice. You could also do a loop of popular cities in the Southeast US to take in different scenery - Nashville, New Orleans, Savannah, etc.

A road-trip sounds super fun! I would recommend making sure you have everything planned out as well as possible so it can remain stress free - what places you want to stop and eat at, your accommodations, etc. We liked that we had so much flexibility to see what we wanted rather than a week at a resort but everyone has their own interests. Smiley smile I also think it kept our costs pretty low and were able to experience the city, forest, and beach all in a single trip.

If you are taking a longer honeymoon, I would totally recommend driving to Utah if you are into hiking! There are many places to stop along the way (St. Louis, Kansas City, Denver) and Utah is unlike any other place we've visited. We did an RV trip with friends there a few years back where drove around all the National Parks and had a blast.
