Honeymoon

Krysttal, on October 15, 2019 at 11:08 PM Posted in Honeymoon 0 23
Hey ladies! So my wedding is 6 months away and my fiancée and I still have not decided where we want to go for our honeymoon. We really would like to stay around 7-10 days so we want something affordable but memorable! Where did you ladies go for your honeymoon & how affordable was it? Thanks in advance!

We are going go to the poconos and staying at a cottage by the lake where we can have bonfires, fish, grill etc. Almost like an air b&b, someone furnishes their place and rents it out. We are staying for a week and its $171 per night. So a little over a 1K

What time of year are you planning on for your honeymoon? We are also having a delayed honeymoon, we are getting married in June and will most likely take our honeymoon in the fall. We are leaning heavily towards a Canada/New England cruise from Boston or New York around this time next year. They are beautiful and scenic, not terribly expensive and romantic with being chilly and you have to cuddle.

Where do you live? Flights from NY/Boston to Dublin or London frequently go on sale!

We decided to stay pretty close to home. We're getting married in May 2020 and then taking 4 days to go check out Portland, ME (4 hour drive from us) and then coming home to just relax at hour home for a few days before heading back to work.

Whatever you decide it will be special.

I haven’t booked our honeymoon yet. But for adorable places I’d recommend an all inclusive hotel/resort at any of these places: Hawaii, Tulum, Bahamas, Jamaica, Bali, or Thailand! Have fun honeymoon booking 🤗🌴🌺

Welcome to the WeddingWire community, Krysttal!

Planning a honeymoon is so much fun Smiley smile

Would you and your FS like to travel within the US or go international? How far would you two be willing to travel?

We went to Japan and Hong Kong. It was expensive aha. They're not cheap places at all esp to fly there. But they COULD be cheap if you opt for more sight seeing than activities.

We went to Hawaii (Maui & Oahu) for 7 nights and spent around $8,000 but we splurged and stayed at fancier places & did a ton of excursions. I would look at places in the US for more affordable options.

Any interest in national parks? There’s a bunch out west that would be so cool to see. You could fly out there and then make a little road trip going to all of them! Def bucket list worthy!

This is me! Procrastinating. We really want to have something memorable. We're about 5 months out and still haven't booked our Honeymoon. We got suggested a 14 day all-inclusive adults only at a Secrets resort in Cozumel for $7K and are considering it. Is this a good deal?!

We really wanted to do St. Lucia but we're getting married in March and March is peak season for the Caribbean (we had no idea) so we think it's out of our price point.

We're going to Providenciales, Turks & Caicos for 7 nights/ 8 days! The flights would've been $346 each, but I got them for $75 total due to credit card reward miles. We got an oceanfront condo on HomeAway for only $1,200. We're assuming the whole thing will cost us around $1,500-$2,000 after food/excursions since his parents are paying for the condo (because my parents are paying for most of the wedding).

We went to an island call Isla Holbox in Mexico. We flew to Cancun and took a 2 hour car ride then a 30 minute ferry to arrive to the island. The place itself is beautiful and has hotel options for all budgets. Island is surrounded with hammocks everywhere even in the ocean. To drive around the island you get a taxi (golf cart, island doesn’t have cars) and everywhere is 50 pesos which is less than $3. Most hotels have bikes for free so that’s an option to get around the island as well.

I loved Turks and Caicos! If you’re staying close to Grace Bay make sure to check out the local beach market they have every Thursday. We had the best food there. Highly recommend Coco Bistro for dinner! Is worth the high price. Also recommend the boat tour as you see one of the best reefs in the world, different and fun experience. Make sure you get the one with the canal and second floor so you can jump from it.
