This is not the first time, But actually the 3rd time we attended a wedding. Instead of a traditional Registry. Couples send out Honeymoon Wishes or funds? FH and I is debating if we should do the same and I'm wondering what's everyone's input here? Thanks ladies! P.S the uploaded photo is actual...

Not even going to go there with the original post because hello dead horse.

BUT no need to beat down on @MrsPotts, she's right, it's not just a sex vacation. If I wanted to stay locked in a room having sex for a week I wouldn't be paying for an international honeymoon in an exotic location with a ton of shit to do. Will I have sex on my honeymoon? Yes of course I will, but it's not the sole purpose of my trip.

I would give a giftcard to a store like Bed Bath and Beyond. A shower is to shower the bride to be with gifts. I'm team honey funds are tacky af

The fact of the matter is that originally it was a sex vacation. If you choose to do a lot of other activities than great but your personal opinions do not change the origin of the practice. Also, Mrs.Potts came out hard against BeMyGuest. Instead of simply stating her opinion, she told her to stop saying sex vacation and called doing so tacky. That statement has since been edited and MrsPotts is claiming that BeMyGuest is the one that took it too far.

Mrs Potts ...FutureMrsHazel...I'm with you. I'm fully aware of the root of a honeymoon (think Mead folks) but referring to it as a "sex vacation" I roll my eyes. It's like a shock tactic. I think most people's "sex vacations" are exactly like their regular ones lol.

For OP.. I am one of the FEW on here not personally offended by a honeyfund registry at a wedding. DISCLAIMER...keep in mind I'm not speaking to what is correct etiquette just my personal feelings. However, a shower? Even I find this tacky.

A honeymoon SHOWER???? Where do people get these ideas from? That's rude. I'd definitely get them a THING they can't take to Italy instead of fork over some cash.

A honeymoon shower seems ridiculous. What are you gonna do? Sit there and watch her open envelopes full of cash. How tacky. Also, if I can't afford my own vacation why should I pay for someone else's?

I stayed locked up having sex constantly.

I absolutely wanted it to be a sex vacation.- or a "destination fuck fest" -thank you Richard for that LOL

Regardless of what I *wanted* my honeymoon to be- I was never going to ask people for money for it.

I can't afford my own honeymoon, I surely wouldn't be helping someone pay for theirs!!! And I definitely would not ask my family and friends to find it either!!!

And I did more research of how those honeymoon funds website, I think it's a rip off anyway. They take 2.8% every transaction of donations. So if I give $100 the site would charge my card 102.50 and when the couple cash out the $100 the site take another 2.8% that's $5 the site is making every guest who donates. The site is making a lot of money.

To the person said just because my friend did the honeymoon fund doesn't mean I should do it. No i never said I would do it, but I'm wondering what everyone think of it and wanted some input.

I am a little confused on what the point of a shower is if there are no cards, no gifts, and everyone will just be sitting around staring at each other. Why not go to lunch and just enjoy yourselves?

No one here was "bitchy". If you've been here and LURKED you would know these are not okay.

Flagged, read the CGs. You can't tell people how to post nor call people bitchy.
