Honeymoon to Texas; Waco, Dallas & Fort Worth

Josey, on December 8, 2019 at 12:00 PM Posted in Honeymoon 0 3
Has anyone every been/planning a honeymoon to Texas? Specifically Waco, Dallas and Fortworth? We are wanting to go to all three places and spend at least a day at each. We are trying to decide on where to stay? Thought about picking one of the three places and renting a car to travel to the others OR staying somewhere central to all three and just traveling to each one whenever we wanted to go!

I haven't honeymooned, but I lived in all 3! I will be brutally honest - do not stay in Waco. Chip and Joanne make it seem scenic, but you will definitely not see much or feel safe. I went to school at Baylor. If you want to tour the sights - Dr. Pepper Museum, Chip and Joanne's shop? - I would stay in Fort Worth and drive down. It's about 2 hours from Dallas, and you will feel infinitely more comfortable staying in Fort Worth or Dallas.

Waco is still rather on the poor side despite the rich university and the small pockets of elite folks. If you do decide to stay the night, stay off of Valley Mills. Do NOT stay in Downtown. The campus is gorgeous, worth a visit as well. Make sure you say hi to the on campus bears!

The forth worth zoo is AMAZING. FH and I went to the Dallas Zoo and it was....ok. if you have time, the Dallas World Aquarium is a must see. Reunion tower is usually a really good time with nice restaurants. Also check out the Arboreum. And of course six flags if you like roller coasters.

My advice would be to stay in downtown fort worth and travel to the others, but I can tell you where to stay in Waco specifically if you decide to. It's still worth a trip if you want to see Magnolia Farms and whatnot. Good luck with planning!

I agree with Kathryn, don’t stay in Waco. You can swing by and visit the shops Chip and Joanne own but aside from that there’s nothing there worth seeing.

I used to travel to FW to see the FW zoo a lot, it is way better than the Dallas zoo. The Dallas arboretum and Dallas aquarium are cool. There’s also places to listen to music/concerts. It’s been more than 15 years since I’ve lived in Dallas, but my sister always had something to do. Just last weekend she was at a concert in downtown Dallas and said it was great! The food is good in Dallas, it’s definitely gotten better and more lively since I lived there!

I visited Dallas and Forth Worth on a girl's trip before. We stayed one night in Fort Worth and one in Dallas. To be honest, we all wished we stayed the entire time in Forth Worth! Personally, I would stay in one place (Forth Worth!) and travel to the others on day trips.
