I have been thinking about putting up a honeymoon registry for our wedding so people could donate to our honeymoon. We already have a house set up and everything so really there isn't much we need in that department. I talked to a friend today who is also getting married next year and she told me...

I talked to a friend today who is also getting married next year and she told me that was in very bad taste to have a honeymoon registry. What do you all think?

I think it's find but a lot of people think it's "tacky". One of my friends had the same problem. They used myregistry.com and set up a cash fund and gave it a creative name (i think it was Jamaican Me Crazy Honeymoon Fund LOL) and also had a little traditional registry with things they wanted to replace. Hope this helps Good Luckk!

You could do something slightly different, but with the same idea to get money/cash to pay for it.

My hubbie-to-be's family is Chinese so they are really cool about giving cash - I was a little worried about asking for cash from some of the older members of my family (my friends were fine about it, as they have been in exactly the same position as me!) so I've set up out list at www.uponourstar.com I've chosen a bunch of cool 'wishes' for us, a lot to do on our honeymoon (snorkeling, spa, dinner out) , and now my fam can 'buy' us those (& then we get the cash after the wedding, yay!).

Steves' family will still give us red packet / Hong Bao too which will be nice. Also, I'm pretty excited about not getting more stuff, I don't need any more wine glasses or sheets ;*)

I would consider Upon Our Star (www.uponourstar.com) if you want something a little different!
