Honeymoon in Hawaii!

Molly, on February 18, 2020 at 1:49 PM Posted in Honeymoon 1 7

My FH and I have decided to go to Hawaii. We plan on visiting the island of Kauai. Anyone else going (or has gone) to Hawaii and specifically Kauai?!

I’ve been to Kauai. I’ll tell you though that it’s a bit dull. Dull in the sense that places there close early and feels more like a place for retirement. But it is pretty. I did a chocolate tour there at lydgate farms and went river tubing

We went to Maui & Oahu for our honeymoon, it was great! No experience with Kauai though.

We just decided this weekend that we are going to Hawaii. We will be staying on Maui for a few days and can’t decide which island to stay at the other days. We are going for ten days total and decided to break it up. Kauai seems beautiful and they have some really cool hikes that are where they filmed the Jurassic Park movie that we were looking into if you are adventurous check that out!

The reason we are going to Kauai, HI is because Jurassic Park was filmed there AND because it's a little quieter than Maui, HI.

Everyone has different priorities and interests, but I don't consider Kaua'i dull in any way. It's beautiful and a perfect island experience, with plenty to do and see. It is a smaller and quieter island than Maui, Hawaii, or Oahu, but I think that's part of its charm. I love that you can drive all around it in one day, but again, there's plenty to do for a week's vacation.

Check out the tubing through the old sugar cane planation irrigation canals. Link So fun and memorable. Definitely make reservations ahead of time.

I also love a drive to Waimea Canyon and visit the the Lighthouse and Wildlife Sanctuary at Kilauea. Link

    Enjoy!

That’s where we are having our micro wedding. We loved it and wanted to go back! It’s so beautiful and calm. I can see why some PPs say it’s dull, but we live in LA and so going somewhere quiet is amazing!
