Honeymoon ideas

Kendall, on May 16, 2019 at 2:11 PM Posted in Honeymoon 0 12
Well we are broke to say the least. We had a lot of unexpected personal things come up and what was supposed to fund my disneymoon is kinda gone. We’ve decided it may be best to do our disneymoon for our one year anniversary so that we’re not giving up the important things we want to do for cost reasons. That being said I’m three months from my wedding and back to having no plan for my honeymoon. We definitely want to do something. Maybe a beach trip or a cruise that isn’t a Disney Cruise. Any suggestions on where to even start?

What is your budget? Where do you live? Location can play a big cost into travel expenses.

My FH and I are paying for everything and were on a tight budget as well! We booked a cruise on Royal Caribbean for 1000 for 5 days, with a room that has its own balcony. It was a great deal! They have shorter trips as well around 400-600 for 3-4 days! Definitely take a look.

What budget do you have left for a honeymoon and how long would you like your trip to be?

We are in Memphis TN. Realistically 1500 but I want a nice honeymoon around a week. We love theme parks/water parks too

Rent a cabin or hit up a resort in Gatlinburg!

If you'd like to do something more beachy, maybe drive down to the FL panhandle?

We were able to get a super nice AirBnB in Destin FL and all costs included, it's coming out to about $2,500 for a week. Without flights and a rental car that cost would be $1,700.

That is total! About 500/pp. Of course we still have to either drive or get plane tickets, and pay for food, but it still ended up being a great option price wise.

Also, its to the Bahamas, I forgot to mention.

We're in the middle of our stay-cation and loving it. We'll do a trip next year but it wasn't in the budget right after the wedding. We both just took time off work and we've been lazing around the house, shopping, eating out, just enjoying things around here we aren't usually able to do. Even if it's nothing, it's something! Enjoy!! Smiley heart

What about something like Lake of the Ozarks, Branson, MO, or Eureka Springs, AR? Somewhere not far from Memphis so you could drive there to save on the need for flights where you could just enjoy a low-key week relaxing and being together?

We are doing a mini-moon right after the wedding, just a few days away the two of us. Ours was less budget and more time constraints based on the many things we have going on in life. We are doing our big two week honeymoon trip to iceland around our first anniversary. Since you're in TN I would totally just get a cabin for a few days - that would be totally reasonable but still nice and intimate for you and your FH! Then plan your dream trip slowly and whenever you can afford it!

My FH are driving down to Lauderdale-by-the-Sea...spending around $1800 and that's with eating out a lot, shopping, etc. I love in North GA so the drive would be somewhat similar to what you guys would have. It's quiet and beautiful yet close to so many things to do/culture, so it feels like you're in a different country anyways. Maybe you could go to DisneyWorld on the way down!

The thing with cruises ( I looked) is that they get you with every fee imaginable...
