Honeymoon Ideas

VICTORIA, on June 15, 2020 at 5:00 PM Posted in Honeymoon 0 19

Just looking for some honeymoon ideas!

We'll have 7, possibly 10, days for a honeymoon in Summer 2020. We do NOT want to honeymoon in Mexico, we just think a lot of people do that.

We did find a sloth sanctuary in Costa Rica (I love sloths), through Unforgettable Honeymoons, and FH was even thinking Hawaii (I've been there twice, and meh).

Just looking to see where the rest of you are all going, and who you booked through, so we can get some more ideas before making a final decision Smiley smile

We booked our honeymoon with the all inclusive Sandals Resorts. We'll be in St. Lucia for a week.

Costa Rica is a great place to go! I didn’t love all the bugs but there are cool things to do and see! I would have liked to see Nicaragua while I was there, but no time. Colombia is on my list of places I need to go to one day, and Greece, I could go on and on lol. Travel is my passion! Wish I could afford to do it more lol

I'm obsessed with sloths haha. FH didn't seem like he loved the idea. And since it's our honeymoon, versus just mine ( Smiley smile ), I wanted to see what other people are doing and see what he thought.

Oh, bugs! I hadn't even thought about that haha. Like...big bugs I can't avoid or like mosquitos? Not sure how I forgot about bugs!

I hadn't thought about PR- did you travel using an agent or just plan it yourself?

I actually ended up choosing what my husband wanted. He wanted japan and Hong Kong but ideally if it was my way we would have done something more like Caribbean or Greece aha. Maybe it can be a compromise where the next trip you do is what the other wanted

Haha scorpions, spiders, large creepy stick bugs 😬 they don’t do much but they are creepy. Big red ants, flying stinging bugs were seen too. There was a tree there with fruit and it is one of the most poisonous trees. You can’t even sit under it when it’s raining and definitely don’t eat the fruit lol. However, there were also really cool things toucans macaws, lizards, bats, large cats, monkeys, sloths...so many animals it was crazy. The howler monkeys sound terrifying but they are neat and not aggressive. Puffer fish everywhere too. It was a crazy place and so beautiful. Great experience.

My friend is doing her honeymoon in Japan! Seems like a really popular honeymoon spot from what I've been hearing. I love Greece, I did look into it, but what I could find was way out of our price point Smiley sad

There are so many Caribbean islands you can take a look at if you want something laid back and relaxing. We are going to Aruba when (fingers crossed) we get married next year. https://www.thecrazytourist.com/25-best-islands-visit-caribbean/

Hawaii requires a 14 day quarantine right now though at least July 31st. Most tourist hotels and locations are closed.

Fiancé and I went to Japan last year and he wanted city and I wanted beach so we did Osaka (food and city life), Kyoto (bamboo forest, shrines, castles), Okinawa and Tokyo (big city great nightlife). Okinawa is amazing if you want beach, snorkeling, and resorts and a very short inexpensive plane ride away from Osaka.

We went to Maui and Oahu and had the most amazing honeymoon. I like Hawaii way more than Mexico.
