Honeymoon ideas

Alright y’all, I’m sure this has been answered on here before but do any of you have any experience visiting any typical all-inclusive, affordable honeymoon spots? I feel like there are so many options that it’s hard to choose & I’d love some advice from people that may have visited one of these places before & to explain what you liked/didn’t like. TIA ❤️

Haven't been yet (going to our first resort this summer!) but I found Oyster reviews REALLY helpful. When you go to individual pages of hotels on the website they go into detail. IMO it's just a matter of researching...do you know what general area/country? Some places it's cheaper to fly into Mexico for example, others it's cheaper to go to the Caribbean.

Here's a list of all their resort articles.

We’re going to Excellence Playa Mujeres for our October honeymoon! Haven’t been, but have heard wonderful things and are super excited. Since we’re going in October, we wanted to pick somewhere that will hopefully have decent weather, which is how we decided on Mexico. But I’d definitely look into where is best for when you want to honeymoon to start. From there, we looked up actual resorts. It seems they’re all so similar, like you said, so we narrowed it down to a few with great reviews and then looked at included stuff (like shuttles), food choices, and room options. We’re not leaving the resort so extra excursions didn’t matter to us. Everything for Excellence PM looked great, and then we were able to get a 2-story room with a rooftop terrace/pool for under budget and that was our “omg yes this is it!” moment, haha!

All I know is beach & all-inclusive right now 😂 I’m trying to be open minded and keep my options open because I know there are so many great places I eventually want to visit, but thank you about the tip on Oyster Reviews! I’ll have to check that out

That sounds SO fun! Yeah we’re going in mid-May so I’ll have to look into what places have decent weather around that time of year and isn’t too hot or anything. We more than likely aren’t going to worry about excursions or anything either since we’re both huge beach people and would just be happy relaxing 24/7, but omg the rooftop pool & two-story room sound amazing!

Girl I am SO with you! When I asked my fiancé what he wanted to do/if he want to do any excursions, he was like “beaches, pools, food, alcohol? Yeah no, that sounds great as is” haha! I think hurricane season runs June to November in Mexico, so you could defs look into going there! Here’s the top floor of our room. I literally could not be more excited! Honeymoon ideas 1

That is so gorgeous! Yeah I’m definitely going to be researching more of like Mexico/the Caribbean today to see what I find. Honestly as long as it’s all-inclusive and has great views I’m all in! Although now I will definitely be on the lookout for rooftop pools or private pools especially

Mexico is probably the cheapest for all inclusive vacations! I have gone to Grand Palladium All Inclusive in Jamaica back in December and the Divi All Inclusive in Aruba back in September. In Jamaica we pretty much stayed on the resort and laid on the beach w/ cocktails in hand. We spent some time in the Spa and enjoyed the entertainment on hand. In Aruba we did the same but also spent a day downtown at stores and then a day on a tour. I personally love all inclusive just because you don't have to worry about footing a dinner bill and paying for alcohol. Alcohol can add up and it's just nice to not have to set aside a separate budget. Definitely do your research on what restaurants are on the resort and their menus. I really don't have any things I didn't like. You go to these places if you don't plan on going out on the town to other bars/restaurants

Yeah I’m definitely looking more into Mexico right now because like you said it’s a lot cheaper than most honeymoons spots! We definitely don’t have to leave the hotel to go anywhere else. I’m perfectly fine with just staying in our resort or little cabana with our free food & drinks😂 when you went did you like visiting Jamaica or Aruba better? Or was it hard to compare?

It's definitely difficult to compare. I'm honestly just happy anywhere where I can relax and go in the water! Aruba beaches were definitely much nicer but the resort entertainment was pretty lacking. We went in September so there were even a lower number of people around so when we went downtown to the stores they were emptied or just closed in general. Jamaica had much better night time entertainment and they did NOT shy when putting rum in our drinks! We also had a much nicer room/romance suite that included a jacuzzi inside and an outdoor shower plus a balcony overlooking the beach! All in all an all inclusive is definitely for you if that's what you're looking for! Some people hate being tied to one place...definitely does not bother me. You get to know the bartenders, waiters, and other resort goers by staying on the property.

I’ve done Costa Rica, Aruba and the Bahamas. I would definitely recommend Aruba or Costa Rica. We stayed at the Riu in Aruba and loved it - great resort that is easy to navigate. The good thing about Aruba is it’s size - you can see the entire island in one trip and it’s safe to get around. It is a desert based environment, so don’t be expecting much greenery. Lol

Costa Rica was amazing. We stayed at the Westin Playa Conchal - it’s a resort that is farther away from a lot of things to do, but has everyone you need including howler monkeys.

What was the name of your resort in Jamaica and was it kind of pricey?
