Honeymoon Ideas in Texas?

Esther, on June 8, 2020 at 1:56 PM Posted in Honeymoon 0 7
Hey guys so we had to cancel our honeymoon to Maui, we’re thinking Of either Florida or Texas? We know we can’t go wrong with Florida but any recommendations for Texas or is Florida the best shot?

Depends! If you want beaches, I would aim for Corpus Christi or Padre Island. There's not a whole lot of tourist things to do per say, but there are some sights in Dallas and Houston and Austin and San Antonio. San Antonio in particular has the gorgeous Riverwalk, and Dallas has a wide variety of experiences. Florida has beaches of course, and Disney. We'll be spending our honeymoon in Galveston (I'm from Houston so I know the area and love those beaches), but they're not all that great as far as tourist beaches. I guess it depends what you want from your honeymoon!

I love Texas and currently live in Dallas. New Braunfels is a cute little town, they have tubing on a river if you're looking for a fun relaxing day. We stayed in a tiny house on the river. Just got back a few weeks ago. They have a farmers market. Its just a cute little town. Honeymoon Ideas in Texas? 1
Austin is a lot of fun. They have Barton Springs, Mount Bonnell, peacock sanctuary, good food, 6th street, Lady Bird Lake with kayaking and paddle boarding. Lots of good resturants.
San Antonio has the river walk. There are some cool spots in Hill Country. They even have glamping options which look really cool and I've been wanting to try. Just not sure how much fun it would be in the heat.
Padre Island and south Padre Island were cool to get to the beach. Definitely not white sandy beaches like Florida and no where close to Maui, but it's sand and water. So you still get the beach.
Dallas is cool too. They have the JFK museum, reunion tower, visit fort worth and get your two stepping on, lots of yummy resturants and beautiful hotels (omni).
Amarillo had Palo Duro Canyon if you like hiking. Such a beautiful place, but would not recommend during the summer. Its the 2and largest canyon in the US.
    Hope that helps.

We did Disney, and didn't want to leave.

I would recommend being guided by the data, though. Please keep an eye on the cases where ever you want to go, because individual states are having very different scales of outbreaks. For instance, NY/NJ are really finally calming down... but FL and TX are actually spiking in some places.

    Be careful!
