Honeymoon Help!

Sara, on December 17, 2019 at 9:36 AM Posted in Honeymoon 0 15

So my wedding is still over a year away - 2/6/2021 - so plenty of time. But FH and I both have no idea what we want to do for our honeymoon - just know it needs to be cost effective because we will be trying to buy a house after the wedding. We are def. leaning more so into staying in the US to save money ---and fun but cost effective ideas!?

Thanks ladies!

I would look into an all inclusive resort. Food and drinks are covered and depending on the state you live it, it could be just as cost effective plane ticket wise to fly to another country then to another state.

I did an all inclusive with a friend last year in Mexico - and I really wasn't impressed with it at all. It could have just been the resort we were at but I am nervous to do it again now...

Also FH is not exactly the beach and relax kind of guy :/

Mine is the opposite and I want to punch him lol. Which state are you in? If you do not care about the time period check out groupon get a aways. I have seen some great deals going to Europe or Asia...worse case you need to fly out of a different airport.

Also, check out Canada. I loved Toronto and if you want there is also Vancouver which I think has more nature and what not. That is my opinion. The people are super nice, there are walking tours, Air BNB experiences (I did a fun wine tasting) and very lovely city.

Ahhh ok I live in FL too. Options stateside Los Angeles (FH and I loved but it can be pricey there), Savannah is chill, you could check out Key West if you haven't. Why not just a cruise? You have three ports you can travel to. I am biased but I love Chicago and NY. I say get out of the country. From Miami you can gt some good priced flights to Spain. Also, I recommend Peru, Costa Rica, Ecuador or Panama. Cuba is cheap but I got dysentery while there so watch what you eat or drink.

These are all the things we are considering! haha. Girl who knows what I am looking for...but which one to choose! We are seriously leaning on doing a few days in Vegas and then renting a car and driving to Sedona Arizona for a few days and then fly back to Orlando from there.

I'd look into all inclusive, cruises, somewhere you can drive, airbnbs, visiting somewhere off season.

Sedona is beautiful. Native Phoenician here! If you've never seen it it's worth it.

Our favorite U.S. vacations have been San Diego, New York City, New Orleans & Austin!

You could also ask for a honeymoon fund instead of doing gifts

You are thinking US just to save money or it's just your preference? If Europe is an option you should consider Seville, Spain. It's Spain's warmest city and the most romantic city I've ever been to. We just went for a week (got engaged there!) and I didn't want to leave. It's also incredibly cheap. We got round trip direct flights for under $400 per person (to Madrid; plus a 3 hour speed train to Seville) and stayed in an huge Airbnb with a rooftop balcony with great views of the whole city for $80 a night. The sunsets are amazing every night!! There were Airbnb options as cheap as $50. And even our nicest dinner was less than $60 total, we were more often spending $30-$40 for dinner (including alcohol) and single digits for breakfast and lunch. There is plenty to do in Seville but also plenty of day trips to take from there.
