Honeymoon help!!

So my fiancee and I are having a hard time deciding where we want to go on our honeymoon. It has to be in the US due to limited PTO time and we will be there for the last week of October. Neither of us are beach people so we are looking for somewhere to rent a cottage or cabin with scenic views and stuff to do. We want to relax for the most part but also have the option to go out and do things as well. Originally we were going to Tennesee but we have both been several times and decided we want to visit a new state. We have never been to the Northeast so we are really interested in going to a New England state such as Maine or New Hampshire. Has anyone had their honeymoon in the Northeast and if so how was it? I am open to any other state suggestions as well! The only states we do not want to visit are Tennesee or California so anywhere else I'd love to hear about! Thanks!

Look into Portland or Seattle! We are 99% sure we are going to Seattle in October. It looks beautiful with LOTS to do.

We booked a cabin in Gatlinburg, TN for the end of October! But, you said something other than that. My cousin went on a family trip and went to many states on the Eastern seaboard. One spot she really recommended was Salem, Massachusetts! With it being the end of October, it may have a Halloween vibe and I'm not sure if you're into that. She also recommended Maine, but more for the water aspect. Colorado has BEAUTIFUL mountains and I would have loved to go there - but that is West coast. Maybe look up states on the East coast and see which look most like where you would like to visit??

Lake Tahoe is beautiful! I've also been to Rhode Island and it has gorgeous views but there are a lot of beaches. I've heard Maine and New Hampshire are nice but I have personally never been.

My grandparents rent a house on Mount Desert Island in Maine, it's where Acadia National Park is. It's absolutely gorgeous, has a ton of things to do and explore around the island, and personally it's one of my favorite places in the world.

There is nothing like New England in the fall! End of October should be peak foliage season. I live in Western Mass, there are a lot of cute small towns out here. Salem or Boston could be nice, depending on what you want to do. Or Provincetown.

I say go to Salem Mass. I hear its great, especially around Halloween. I suggested going to Salem because our wedding is in October too but FH says we can go anytime. And we could since we only live in New Jersey. It's like a 7 hour drive. We finally decided on a cruise but definitely look into Salem!
