Honeymoon Help

Miryam, on May 29, 2019 at 11:24 AM Posted in Honeymoon 0 12

Hi ladies, my FH and I are trying to decide where we want to go for our honey moon and are looking at all inclusive options.

Have any of you been to any of these locations? What resort did you stay at? And did you enjoy it and would you go back?

I've been to the Hyatt Regency and Maui and it's amazing! My FILs actually have a timeshare there. Also the Grand Wailea on Maui is absolutely incredible. I've never stayed there but we did go for an evening, and it was literal paradise.

This is from Costco right? We are going to Oahu & Maui. I think the Costco deals included flight, car, hotel but not things like activities/drink/food like some other destinations do. We are staying at Royal Lahaina in Maui and the Four Seasons Ko Olina in Oahu, and Turtle Bay in Oahu. We've been to Cabo and it was fun! We went for 8 days and in my opinion, it was too long. I felt like we had a limited area that was tourist-safe to go so by day 5/6 I felt like we had explored all that.

It is, but were not sure we are acutally going through Costco. We are just using their location options since we thought it was a good bunch. We've heard the same thing about Cabo so we will have to keep that in mind! We're only going for 5 days though so we should be fine!

It was a great vacation overall. We LOVED all the seafood, that was probably the best part. We did a 1-2 days of just lounging. We went parasailing (it was okay, not super exciting), jet-skiing (SO FUN), a boat tour of the Arch of Cabo (we jumped off a rock here - that was pretty cool), a walking food tour (LOVED this, it took you more into Cabo rather than just the touristy area), got a couples massage at a local well-reviewed place for super cheap (perfectly nice massage), did a tequila tasting (loved it), and did a sail boat out to a snorkeling area (water wasn't super clear but sailboat was super fun).

We're going to the Dominican Republic (Punta Cana) for our honeymoon. I've been to the Hard Rock there twice. We're going to Excellence El Carmen this time. I've also been to Riviera Maya/Cancun several times. Secrets and Excellence/Beloved are great options. Aruba is beautiful, but we did an AirBnB. There aren't too many all-inclusive resorts there. Costa Rica is gorgeous and has tons to do. I considered the Secrets there.

We are going to Jamaica. Couples swept away. All inclusive and they have a lot of excursions and things to do included too like scuba diving and kayaking. We haven’t gone yet but my FSIL went on her honeymoon there and raved about it. The beach looks amazing. Excited to go.

I stayed at Ocean Maya Royale in Mexico and The Level at Melia in Punta Cana. Both excellent resorts but I would recommend The Level out of the two.

Antigua is amazing, but is very expensive to fly to. St. Lucia is beautiful, would definitely recommend. Puerto Rico was fun, but I'm not dying to go back. I loved the Dominican Republic (stayed in Punta Cana) and would love to go back. We're going to Riviera Maya this year and I am so excited, it is beautiful and affordable.

Grand Cayman (never been) is awesome but is very expensive. I've never been to Costa Rica but it is on our list of places to go. Jamaica is our next out of the country trip (planning it for 2020), we've never been but a lot of our friends have so we're looking forward to it.

We are going to Tahiti & Moorea for our honeymoon! It's expensive, but not to the level of Bora Bora. We're staying 1 night at the Pearl (Tahiti) and the rest at the Hilton Moorea. It's not all-inclusive but does include a lot. In French Polynesia, the main airport is in Papeete (on Tahiti). Moorea is a 35-40 minute ferry from Tahiti; the other islands require a short flight. We booked through Tahiti.com and have had a good experience with them so far.
Something to consider is high vs. low season for wherever you're going. Prices can fluctuate. We're going at the very beginning of "low season" prices (early November).French Polynesia is the same time zone as Hawaii. We're flying to LAX and then taking an 8-hour overnight flight to Tahiti the next evening.

I went to the Bahamas last year with my family, and I loved it so much we're going back for our honeymoon, just a different island. Both trips we booked through Sandals.

Honeymoon twins! We're doing Mo'orea in March. We decided to split up our time between 2 hotels so we could see more of the island, but we have an overwater bungalow at the Hilton! We also booked through Tahiti.com. I loved all the excursions they could add on and schedule for us! Snorkeling with sting ray and sharks, jetski tour, atv tour, couples massage, private dinner on the beach. Omg.
