Honeymoon help---ABC Islands?

MrsMeyersToBe, on January 16, 2017 at 2:16 PM Posted in Honeymoon 0 5

Hey everyone! So FH and I want to look into all inclusive resorts because we think that way it will be easier to stick to a budget for the honeymoon.

We are looking into the ABC Islands, although FH isn't crazy about Aruba because he wants to go somewhere my parents haven't been (it's a weird thing, I know, but oh well). Does anyone know of an all inclusive resort in Bonaire or Curaçao? We're also interested in Grenada possibly. I've been googling, but all I get is Expedia sites. I know Grenada has a Sandals, but any and all ideas please let me know!

My main reason for these islands is because they are, for the most part, out of hurricane path. If there are any other good spots that you know are kind of out of hurricane lane, please let me know. We definitely want Caribbean. FH would love those private huts on the water...so extra points if you tell me about a resort with those. Smiley winking

We are going to do a cruise to the ABCs so we can see all 3.

We have also been to Grenada on a cruise, I loved it, FH said he wouldn't care to return.

Our favorite island is St Croix and St John. Easy to get to and part of the US. In hurricane path. A cruise is a good bet as they will divert to different ports if a hurricane is forecast. Happy honeymoon planning!

Thanks Stacy. I've been on multiple cruises and FH has been on one. We're probably going to stick to one location. Cruises will probably be an anniversary trip in the future though! That would be an awesome area to do a cruise. I'm jealous!

I'm traveling in September, which anyone in the northeast knows can be prime hurricane season! Because we wanted a Sandals resort, we looked at Barbados & Grenada (not in the hurricane zone) and St. Lucia (on the edge of the hurricane zone). I also purchased travel insurance just in case!

My travel agent let us know that Mexico has over-the-water huts and she said they're cheaper than the ones Sandals have. So if you'd be open to Mexico, that might be an option!

Don't go to Bonaire unless you are there to dive! We were there in November and it was phenomenal (even before the engagement), but we are avid divers. There is NOTHING to do there if you aren't diving daily. The beaches are mostly rocky coral and small. You can snorkel some of the sites, but won't see as much. But if you're major divers, do it, go to Sanddollar and do the unlimited diving, worth every penny!
