Why not both? There are a lot of tropical locations that are adventurous too like Costa Rica or Hawaii

Yes, I would look for a place that you can do both! We are going to Puerto Rico for this reason.

We live in Kentucky and have considered taking the Route 66 tour, but I feel like that would be more memorable as a family trip. I guess I'm just torn.

I say pick a place that is both! I really liked Belize for for that reason.
