Honeymoon book now or wait for last minute deals?

Best prices on airfare are about 6 weeks out (supposedly). Book too early and pay more. Wait too book and again you pay too much. I don't think it matters so much for hotels (I've booked a few for our June honeymoon).

I haven't booked any activities (mostly because of the shutdown, I couldn't get on national park sites etc) or airfare.

I think it depends on where you want to go. For cruises, it might make sense to wait. June is a popular month for vacationing, so you might not want to wait too long. Personally, I booked in advance. We are going to Sandals. Sandals has a disclaimer (and so does Priceline) that if you see your already booked vacation at a lower price, they will honor the price. Ours did drop once in price (woot) but that was it. It's gone up in the past 3 months.

I booked our honeymoon about 4 weeks before and got entire 6 day honeymoon, all inclusive to Playa Del Carmen for $1100. It was WONDERFUL! So I say WAIT!

We booked our honeymoon super early. Like a year or so in advance. We got a great deal (at least from my understanding- although I've never been on a cruise so who knows). I paid $1200 total for mine and FH's tickets for a 7 night cruise. And we just booked our airfare. I paid around $440 total for both of our round trip tickets from MI to FL. I think we did good and I think it was because we booked early. But who knows. I don't travel much so I'm not sure when the best time to buy is. But I have heard that the prices are better further in advance. So that's why I did it early.

I've heard if you're traveling internationally the best time is four months before. Not sure if its true. We booked around five months out. Prices only went up after that!

Personally, I am such a control freak that I couldn't possibly leave it to chance and wait until the last minute and risk not getting exactly what I want. I just barely booked my cruise for late june and I will see how the prices change!

If you pay a year - 9 months out you can get airfare at the cheapest rate. I got a roundrip tickets from Dallas to Cancun for $250 per person.

We booked our hotel in Aruba in May but are waiting for a good air deal

I would recommend that you book now for June. Its a very busy travel time for honeymooners

If you book a vacation package,
