Honest Feedback

Nicole, on February 3, 2019 at 3:00 PM Posted in Do It Yourself 1 61
I’m on a roll with posting today! Can I get some honest feedback on these? I’m not sold yet, so no feelings will be hurt if they just need to be chucked. I originally was going to do wooden signage, but then saw the acrylic trend and thought I’d see how that looked. Thoughts on these? Colors of the wedding are dark green and gold, with ivory and blush accents. Do I stick with the foil vinyl, or do I go the gold painted route for the words? Scrap it altogether and stick with original plan of dark wood and white words? Just words on the acrylic with no paint behind? FH won’t give input on these, so I’m relying on my WW ladies and gents! Thanks in advance!

These are actually pretty cool and they’ll match perfectly with your color scheme. Did you do these on a Cricut?

Yes, I did. I used the Cricut brand brushed foil in gold. The tails on either side are the font I Love Glitter, but I can't remember what I used for font on the letters. Brunello, for the cards sign, maybe? Definitely can't remember the dessert table sign fonts.

I wish I had a Cricut. Everyone does such cool stuff with there’s. If you don’t mind me asking, not including the Cricut, how much did this project cost you? I just looked up similar signs on Etsy and they’re $55+!

I think I spent like $12 on the acrylic at Home Depot and the foil was maybe $7? Paint was $3. So like $22 for both pieces? I still have more foil and another piece of acrylic left over.

Thank you all for your input so far. Do we have any opinion on the brush strokes? Too heavy on one side? Not asymmetrical enough?

I LOVE MY CRICUT!!! I plan on making my own magnet save-the-dates and definitely doing my own invitations. The money you save by being able to make your own stuff is definitely more than what you would spend on your machine. It's worth its weight in gold!

I love these signs! How are you going to display them? I'm feeling some matching spray painted gold picture frames with no back so you can see through it.

Those look amazing! I’m so in love with this trend, I might have to make some signs myself.

I love my Cricut too! I was thinking of displaying them in a wooden block. Stained a dark walnut, maybe? Or maybe small easels that I can paint gold? Not 100% on them yet, as this project was a whim.
