home improvement registry?

Soon2BMrsP, on October 24, 2009 at 6:28 AM Posted in Planning 0 11

I was telling fh i hadn't planned on registering(lord, we don't need anything, i thought), and he said how great it'd be if we could just get HD and lowes cards. now, i know lowes d/c'd their registry, but HD still has one going. what do you guys think? cash is nice, and we're not registering, plus our friends are the $ giving kind anyways, except for when it comes to our kids...so i'm thinking of going to HD and doing a registry there...or a "renovation fund" kind of thing. not expensive stuff, but still stuff that will be used when we add our bathroom, redo our cosmetics(fans, light fixtures, cabinets, you get the drift)...as a guest, would you purchase or contribute to this? personally i would, but that's just me, so i thought i'd ask

If you google lowes registry, it tells you they d/c'd the registry/wish list in june or july this year...but if you google home depot registry, it tells you to go into your local store...was going to my moms today, but decided not to so i'm heading to HD today lol...i think it's a little more personal, kind of..i mean, i'll remember forever that mirror behind my head board was purchased by gram and grandpa, long before i remember who gae us $100 or a set of plates lol...i'm dirty, sorry...but you know what i mean. it's something you'll use daily, not occassionally or not at all(and probably not something you'll return!)...

I would certainly buy things for someone from a HD registry.

I think it is a great idea. I would buy a gift from a home improvement registry. If we buy a new house before the wedding, I will registring at a home improvement store.
