Highlight Video Song

AngelaA, on March 25, 2014 at 11:40 AM Posted in Planning 0 7

I've been going through songs the last few weeks, and think we have all of our songs for walking down/up the aisle, entrance, etc. picked out. But I realized I still need to choose a song to give my videographer to set our highlight reel to!

What is everyone doing for their song?

This is so hard! I want something sweet, pretty, and uplifting.

This cover of "Tonight, Tonight" by Passion Pit is different but beautiful:

This Lana Del Rey is a little sad, but still so pretty:

And another: Passion Pit - Moth's Wings:

I really love the song "Overjoyed" by Matchbox 20 (I've always loved them) so I want that as one of the songs on our video. I'd even consider it as a first dance song if we didn't already have one.

I also like "Without You" by Usher but fear it may be slightly overused. I like the way it looks with video from dancing at the reception.

I'm trying to find creative songs. My friend is obsessed with Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros and has me listening to a bunch of their music. They have a song called Home that's good and fun :-)

I keep hearing things on the radio I like, but then I wonder if I will want to hear that song in 15 years when I'm watching the video?

I like Rascall Flats "Bless the Broken Road", but FH really doesn't like them. Smiley sad

Wait, is this going online? Why do you even get to pick? A legit videographer should license the song. Then you don't have to worry about YouTube/Facebook pulling your video down because the record label won't allow the music. (SongFreedom is a licensing sight and does have some music you'd recognize)

I also like not choosing the song so that you don't end up with something you get tired of - sure, "Happy" by Pharrel (or any song) seems great, but maybe it won't in a few months or years.

I was thinking of doing "Ho Hey" by the Lumineers, it's upbeat and a catchy song.

I like "best day of my life" by american authors... there was a post the other day about someone thinking of using it during the ceremony but the fast pace of the song was a concern. I think it would be GREAT for the video
