Hiding the bride/Outdoor wedding

ODL, on January 9, 2017 at 5:41 PM Posted in Planning 0 29

Has anyone ever had to hide a bride from her prep area to the isle? I have a good distance between my prep area and the isle. I would like to keep hidden until I get to there. I've seen on pinterest a diy PVC pipe and sheet cover but I would need someone to carry it as I walk and really don't like the idea of having someone do that.. Any more ideas?

Aisle** you want to be hidden until you get to the top of the aisle? I'm having a hard time picturing what you mean

What's an isle? Where is your wedding that the weather is warm enough for an outdoor wedding in October?

Hide behind a cover? That seems excessive.

We might do what Penny suggested. We are having the same issue. This is my venue and I'll be coming from the top of that path. It goes up a little ways.

I have the same issue. Luckily a car, carriage, limo, etc can be driven up. So we're renting a car for the 1/2 mile trek so I'm not seen.

I might just have the groom turn around! I tried to get more pictures of the outdoor area and could not get a good one to show what I am talking about. But my wedding is September 10th. Not October? And it's normally warm and nice here that time!

@houligantobe it is roughly around 60 feet. So plenty of time for him to watch me walk down and I want to prepare and prevent that from happening!

@ penny Any idea on what that cover could be? I have two large wine barrels I will be walking through at the beginning of the aisle.

@MelissaErin... it's January and is going to be 75 degrees out this week. There's plenty of places where outdoor weddings can be held in October (I had an outdoor wedding in October, I attended outdoor weddings in both Nov & Dec).

I honestly think anything other thanhaving him turn around is gonna look kinda silly. I don't think the PVC pipe and sheet would look very nice, and end up looking cheesy.

@houligantobe I agree. And it is seriously the only solution that I kept pulling up when searching. And the hassle for the carriers! I think I will just have the groom turn around until the ceremony is started.

I have seen people use reclaimed wooden doors and I considered doing that myself but it just seems like too much of a hassle to set up and take down, not to mention getting them there lol. We have a small gazebo that marks the beginning of the aisle, if it's feasible I might hang curtains but otherwise I'm going to have someone single him to turn around when I'm ready

Maybe use a couple big golf umbrellas? I would talk to the coordinator at your venue, they may already have something they use.

My venue actually has a couple doors we could use some way maybe. I'm jotting down ideas to look into as I get them! Thanks ladies!

I have the same issue. My dad is going to drive me from the door and through the grass to the aisle where there are doors like it was mentioned earlier. Although I'm not sure if I'm going to use the doors. I'm planning on having FH look at the ground until the music changes.

We're using a car to drive me down and then park kinda sideways so the vehicle blocks me until I get situated after getting out of the car.
