We had originally planned to be married close to our anniversary in late November but then realized that daylight savings was a thing. We didn't want to be forced into a first look or an early wedding for the sake of pictures with daylight so we moved our date to mid october 2019.
We had that same debate. I never wanted to do a first look prior to the ceremony because I wanted the traditional experience of my fiance seeing me for the first time in my dress as I walk down the aisle. But, then I realized that we might not have time to take all the pictures we want around the city during the cocktail hour. So, we're doing a first look before the ceremony and all the bridal party pics around Philly. We decided to have the ceremony at 3:15 while it's still light out. The guests will get to see the sunset from the top floor of our venue overlooking the entire city during the cocktail hour from 4-5, and then our reception will be from 5-10 with the city lights at night. We basically planned our entire wedding timeline around when the sun would set lol. And now we get to enjoy some of our cocktail hour too!
