Mrs.evans, on July 1, 2022 at 8:41 PM Posted in Wedding Reception 0 38
Hey everyone tell us what type of food that everyone is having. Rather it's a buffet style, sit down dinner etc. We would love to hear from you it can help someone else for some ideas. So for myself we are having a buffet style dinner we have alot of our guest that have certain food restrictions. So this way that every guest would been able to have a choice and eat. So I told them to write a few food restrictions so our caterers will know. Come and share with us past and soon to be or recent

That’s very considerate that you’ve put in the effort to collect your guests’ dietary restrictions. We did the same. Luckily there were very few restrictions we needed to work around. We are having a cocktail hour with heavy appetizers, then we will be serving a 4 course plated meal created for us by a creole chef.

Yes thank you and thats sounds delicious😋😋 and yes I'm glad that we didn't because nowadays ppl are having food issues. Now may I say something and I mean not disrespect Cece. But if you have a heavy cocktail hour then will not be able to enjoy that delicious tasty creole 4 course meal. Because they will be full lol lol girl I'm already imagining the food yum😋😋shrimps and grits 🍽the pasta ooh ok I'm back lol lol

Two of the consistent complaints I’ve seen about weddings is bad/not enough food, and no open bar. So those were 2 of our non-negotiables! I’d much rather guests have too much delicious food than not enough. And having lots of food also means I won’t mind missing cocktail hour for photos 😆

We are having 5 appetizers and 2 stations. Then a plated 4 course meal. Choices are marinated chicken with mushroom and marsala sauce, roasted prime rib w/au jus and horseradish creme fresh, or grilled mahi mahi with lemon butter sauce and tropical fruit salsa. Then an Italian dessert table along with our small cake.

We're having stations, which I think is so fun. It also simplifies some issues with dietary needs-- each station will be manned by a member of catering staff, who can warn guests about ingredients and such. You could probably do this for a buffet as well, just have catering staff standing to the side.

We have a TON of dietary issues to consider. So many allergies, lots of vegan guests, lots of kosher guests. I wanted a trendy little charcuterie station, but I've since learned that all the usual charcuterie meats are pork ): My FW and I decided that accommodating our guests is way more important that serving what we personally want. Guests always talk about the food at weddings.

For our appetizers we are having crab Mac and cheese cups, sweet and sour meatballs and a veggie tray! Our options for dinner are stuffed chicken w/ gravy or Prime rib with au jus and horseradish sauce. (They can pick one or the other or they can have BOTH) our sides are garlic smashed potatoes and brown sugar glazed carrots. It will be a buffet but we will have the catering staff put the food on everyone’s plates in line. We will also have a side salad and apple butter w/ biscuits 🤗 our dessert will be our amazing spice cake along with cookies and brownies!

We are actually going to our food tasting in two weeks to make our final choices and I cannot wait!

We are having 4 passed hors d'oeuvres as well as two stations (a veggie display and a cheese display) during our cocktail hour and then having a 3 course plated meal. Everyone will get to chose between three different entrees (fish, chicken, or beef) with the ability to request vegetarian or vegan if needed. We're also having 3 (very) different cake flavors to choose from for dessert. Our favors are also dessert - chocolate truffles that are made in my home town.

On top of that we're also doing "late night snacks" about an hour before the end of the reception. We're going to be doing one savory and one sweet.

The thing everyone always says about weddings is whether or not the food was good, and if they had to pay for their own drinks. So I made a non-negotiable - plenty of food and open bar was a MUST in our package!

Hi Orianna I love your name ❤ and that's great I wish that we were able to do a tasting of what we will have but he is independent cater and not part of our venue. So we had alittle sample I will just prayer and just trust in him. Yes that is a very important part and the selections sounds very good. And thank you so much for sharing your comments with us. Have a great tasting

In my culture we do family style meals in courses of 8-10. the amount of courses is significant in terms of meaning sometime like longevity, etc

For our mains, we're having pork tenderloin, chicken cordon bleu, and eggplant caponata. We'll have vegetarians/vegans, so the eggplant dish will accommodate them. We'll have some kosher and possibly halal guests, so the caterer will make/order those dishes separately. There will be no nuts or shellfish all day in order to accommodate allergies. I'm asking guests for dietary restrictions on the RSVP, but that's all I know as of now. We're having a plated meal so I'm not worried about contamination of dishes (some of my vegetarians are very particular).
