J, on October 11, 2010 at 7:40 PM Posted in Planning 1 12

My fiance and I have just finished making the rounds to a number of locations mostly in central and north jersey. We went to about 16 locations before falling in love with our final choice- The Crystal Plaza! I have relied so much on this forum and the kindness of others sharing information with us during this process, that I wanted to pass along any info. I could, to others looking for info. as well :o)Please keep in mind that these prices are for the most part for Saturday nights in March/ April.

Here we go!

Il Villagio: Sat. Night/April/ $140 *Before tax/grat/Maitre D fee We loved that they do a precoctail hour starting a halfhour before your event for early arrivals!Very nice people here!!!

The Villa: Sat Night late March/ early April smaller room $99 had count min 100? larger room $120 head count min 150, Beautiful place! 2 weddings at a time, but staggered start times, include uplighting for you. Lovely people!!!

Tides Estate: April, Sat Night, larger ballroom, negotiated down to $100 a head (was $130). Min headcount, negotiated down to 125 (was 175). Smaller ballroom, min head count was 75 and price was around $90. Very beautiful place and they surprise you with a lovely gift at the end of your appointment! Upstairs bridal suite is AWSOME!

**Forgot to mention above, but the Il Vilagios bridal suite is awsome! Even has a shower!** Ask for Bob if you go for a tour!

Valley Regency: We heavily considered this place! It's so beautiful! 1 wedding at a time. Great grounds for pictures. Went to see the coctail hour in person and LOVED it! Sensational ballroom! Pricing: Sat. late March/early April negotiated down to $140 a head before tax/grat/maitre d, min. head count 140 firm. Friday night, sam time of year was about $115 a head and I think 125 min. headcount.

Skylands at RANDOLPH: (not the castle one)

I had a strange vibe here. Just felt a little creepy/ weird layout/ massive enterance/ was built to be a casino back in the late 70's. We did like the newly renovated Hamptons Ballroom on the first floor. Looks great! Coctail hour room is def. too small and not really "separate" from the ballroom. Pricing: Sat. night in April: from around $90-$125 or so before tax/grat./maitre d fee. They have several different packages and seemed flexible on lflip flopping comprable items!

    The Manor:

Sat Night. April Virginian Room I think was about $99. We were lectured when we arrived for being 10 minutes late, despite me explaining that I missed the exit :/ WHen I met with Rolph, I just felt like it was very scripted, impersonal and rushed. They are great with email and will email you rate info. as well as photos of the place- which I really appreciated!

    Highlawn Pavillion:

Sat. night April $110/$115 a head.Odd room layout, beautiful views!

Imperia: Very pretty, hosts up to 3 weddings at a time, has an outdoor patio outside the Majestica Room,Sat. Night April $145 before tax/grat. maitre d fee.

Holly Hedge Estate (located just over the NJ border in PA) Sat. night April $125 a head, min. head count 125 people. One wedding at a time, great location for a wedding with a country feel. Very nice people who are eager to provide you with any info. you need.

Addison Park: It's gorgeous! Sat. night late March/ early April around $125 min head count 150 firm. Hosts 2 weddings at a time.

The Palace: Sat. Night late March/ early April $145 a head and a min head count of 135. It's a lovely location!

Seasons: Sat. night late March/ early April $145 a head before tax/grat/ maitre d, min head count 125 - this is for the upstairs ballroom. downstairs head count & price is higher and we found that without raising our headcount, they wouldn't consider us for downstairs. We loved it here! Went to visit their coctail hour and were really impressed. Great reputation too! 2 weddings at a time, but they stagger the start times.

The Crystal Plaza: We Booked here! When we walked in, we were simply blown away by the personalized experience, butlers, and greeters scattered about, unbelievable coctail hour and a KILLER bridal suite! When we walked into the ballroom, my jaw dropped and I knew that we had to get married here! The menus of food offerings is superb and you really feel like you could ask for nothing more. It is definately considerably more then any other place we looked. Prepare urself for a price tag that will easily be over $200 a head and a high min. head count! Yikes!

The Landmark: Sat night, April $85 min head count was I believe 75 for the upstairs ballroom and 100 for the first floor ballroom. They include uplighting for you, which is nice! We didn't have a great experience here unfortunately :/

Berkley Plaza: sweet people, the owner actually stopped in during our appointment just to introduce himself which I thought was very classy! Sat. night in April was around $95 a head. 2 ballrooms, smaller room min. head count I think was around 75-80 and the larger min. was 135 or so.

Macaluso's: Sat. Night late March/ early April around $125 a head. min head count 125. Lots of food but in a weird location. Just wasn't our style overall. Funny people though!!!

Mayfair Farms: These people are great and we def. considered this place! Sat. night April $110 a head, min head count 125 for downstairs room, main floor ballroom min head count I think was 175. They give you a lot, are very flexible, have a great reputation and have been there for a long time!!

The Atrium: These people are class all the way! We felt so at home here! Mature staff, inviting us in, waiting on us while we waited, very pretty inside! Sat. night in March I think was $95 and April went to $115 if I'm not mistaken. Upstairs ballroom min head count was around 150. They do an equation if you have lets say 125 where they tack on money per head to accomodate a slightly lower head count. Downstairs ballroom is better for showers/b-day parties etc. Coctail room is outstanding! They give you an amazing amount of food and really treat you like royalty!

The Grand Colonial: Beautiful Country wedding location. Sat. night April price range: $115- $135 a head. They have 3 different packages. I think the Min. head count was around 125-140. Beautfil bridal suite FYI! Great room for pics!
