Helppppp: Reception Dances

Taylor, on February 8, 2020 at 1:43 AM Posted in Wedding Reception 0 5
Okay so my family is petty to the Max is it bad to just do away with the first dance and the whole dancing with parents as a whole? I particularly don’t enjoy dancing with people anyways?

It’s your wedding, you get to choose which traditions you do and which ones you ditch!

I also hate dancing infront of everyone! My dad pretends like he does but I think it's important to him. We're compromising and doing the father/daughter mother/son dance at the same time.... Song will be short 😅

It’s totally fine to skip them if you don’t want them. How does your FS feel about cutting the spotlight dances though? It’s not fair to take that moment from them just because your family can’t behave.

Its definitely not mandatory. We might skip cause FH doesn't have a great relationship with his mom and he feels it would be weird. I wanted to do a dance with my dad though but I wouldn't want FH's mom to feel left out.

I would still want to include my dad somehow so I'm thinking because we're both poets, I would replace the dance with reciting a collaboration piece with him.
