I think it should be his decision. To me a church should be open to anyone regardless of attire. I would say let him wear what he is most comfortable in.

How casual is your dress? I’d be worried that you two wouldnt match in formality.
He could also get changed for the reception. You could both change actually, into something more country chic, that might be really cute

I haven't gotten my dress yet but I'm thinking mermaid style. That's my worry is not matching each other. I'm thinking the change of clothes may be the way we are going.

The church we go to is very open. They don't mind jeans but to me it just doesn't seem right but it could just be me. He's fine with either one as long as at the reception he can be in jeans lol.

I would maybe compromise. I am not a fan of tuxedos (reminds me of prom lol) so why not a nice blazer and matching pants or a three piece suit? Formal and class and we can wear cowboy boots. He can even forego the tie. I feel something like below is classy but makes him happy and keeps with the cowboy theme.

That is why google and Pinterest are a brides best friend. I would be cool if my FH did something like this as it is casual yet cute. He could have the effect of a tux with the bowtie and I think this would be a happy medium for you both. Could even do a darker color if you want a more formal look.

My FH’s a country boy as well, although for some reason he wanted a black tux at first which totally threw me off 😂 we ended up going to Men’s wearhouse and he really liked the look of a gray suit. He’s gonna wear his cowboy boots with it and put on a cowboy hat for the reception! I think it will look so cute, plus he’s super excited which makes me happy as well. Maybe some sort of mixture like he’s doing would be good for y’all!
