Welcome to WW! A good place to start is choosing theme/color palette. Go ahead and decide on a budget and start drafting your guest list!

You just write down the names and addresses of people you want to invite keep it somewhere safe.
Overall it's best to start with a budget you know you can afford, then pick colors, a date, a place.

Dont worry about colors yet. They could change based on the venue you pick.
Budget first, then guest list, then venue/vendors that accommodate both of those.

But honestly, at your age, I'd stay engaged for a couple years. Take it slow.

Hey Aleigha! Congrats on saying says! I would highly recommend selecting a budget then doing some homework on venues and find the best option for you. Also look to see if the town/state has any rules or regulations on beach weddings. In my hometown (Fl), they are reducing the number of weddings on beaches and you have to have a contract and use certain beaches for your wedding. If you go with a hotel/condo you are ok because you are on their property. However, they can get pricey when you have to use their food, booze, drinks, etc. You will also want to make sure you have a date in mind when talking with vendors. During the summer, prices for beach weddings go up because you are also competing with tourist to have the same beach access and rooms.

i would say just think about what you like, what your significant other likes, and how can you create y'all dream wedding. Don’t hesitate to ask people questions. Wedding Wire by far has been great community. Be sure to surround yourself with people close to you help you during the planning process. Attend bridal fairs, review bridal check lists (there are so many out there and they pretty much tell you the same thing) to get ideas on what you need to do to get started in your planning.

Just remember that this is your wedding, have fun, enjoy life and don’t worry about the small stuff in the details. It’s a day that will come and go but the memories will be cherished forever and you get to spend the rest of your life with the person of your dreams.

Congrats! First thing to do is come up with the budget. The budget really helps you know how much you can afford with different venues and also how many guests you can actually feed and your venue can hold.

I just meant a long engagement, especially when you're young, helps the planning process. I was engaged over a year and we were together for 10 at that point. No offense intended.

It’s no problem. This is one reason why I like this app. It’s very useful. I’m not a pro at wedding planning but I can definitely help or suggest anything if you need.

Good luck and enjoy planning and your celebration of you and your spouse coming together!
