Just Said Yes October 2020

Help

Erin, on July 19, 2020 at 7:31 AM Posted in Planning 0 7
Hi there! My wedding is this October 10th, I was just told by my venue I had to drop to 60 people. The Church where the ceremony is now only holds 30 people. How am I supposed to swing all of this with guests who already received save the dates? I really don’t have the energy or interest to bump a party to Oct 2021

Unfortunately, it doesn't sound like you have many options. You can either cut your guest list to comply with what the church has told you (I would check if 30 includes vendors or not), get married somewhere else, or postpone.

Maybe do the ceremony outdoors and reception at your venue. That would give you 60

Your guests will understand. This is completely beyond your control. If you still want to have your wedding the same day and cut the guest list, try not to stress about it. It's still about the 2 of you and what you guys want.

I would do wedding party and parents only for the ceremony. Fewer hurt feelings that way. You can also provide a zoom link for your guests to attend virtually.
and everyone else who makes up the 60 comes to the reception.
How big was your guest list to begin with?

Same boat here and marrying in August. I’m calling tent companies first thing Monday morning. I went to an October wedding years ago in a big white tent with heaters inside. Very cozy!! Creativity is your best friend right now 👍 cheering you on and hoping my creative juices flow like never before as well!!!! ❤️❤️❤️

Your guests will understand. Maybe start off with taking out kids and immunocompromised guests and older guests by giving those people an online option if available

Can you ask your reception venue if it’s possible for them to allow your guests to arrive earlier? Maybe you can live stream the ceremony on a big screen for those who are able to come to the reception, but not the church. And others can watch from home.
