Help

We are 74 days from our wedding date (take 3). Our original wedding date was 4/4/2020, then moved to 9/5/2020. So now we are trying for 4/3. In VA we can only have 10 people present now thanks to covid. How do you pick 10 people or do you just throw in the towel and give up? I am so beyond frustrated. Sorry guys I needed to vent and get some advice

The easiest is to find categories of people, as in parents and siblings, parents and siblings and wedding party etc
Does 10 people have to include your vendors as well? I’d think for 10 people it would be just the couple, parents, siblings and maybe MOH/BM?
Also April might have fewer restrictions, depending on how the vaccine distribution goes. Is everyone you invited local? Could you make a list with 10 people, a list if 25% capacity and a list of 50% capacity and then see one month out what are restrictions? From my experience our venue and vendors were super accommodating with last minute guest changes

You should be picking 5 closest loved ones; while your significant other chooses 5 closest loved ones.

I'm not sure how big your families are, but if we had been restricted to 10, we would've done parents, siblings, and vendors only.

As it is, we had 35, and that was hard enough, so I can't even imagine! Though part of me sort of wishes we had just kind of eloped or done a super small ceremony with parents/siblings only.

So sorry that you guys have to keep shuffling your plans around! Smiley sad

I would do just parents and siblings if we were restricted to 10 and insisting on keeping the date.

Also, I'm sure you've checked since you're so close to your date, but maybe double check that your venue only allows 10. I'm also in VA and thought I could only have 10, but my venue informed me that since they serve food, they fall under the restaurant restrictions and can have 50% of their normal capacity.

Doesnt the 10 people include officiant, photographer and you and your future spouse? If so then I recommend parents only or cancel and have your wedding outside or in your home.

I am so sorry Krystal. I can’t begin imagine your frustration. We postponed once and it nearly killed me. It’s really hard to see when it’s your own wedding, but from an outsider, you still have a month before invitations are sent. I heard of a bride who actually had two different state weddings lined up and whichever state had less restrictions, that’s where they were going to get married. It’s a wild thought, but I totally understood why she did it. Thinking of you and sending strength!! I hope cases go way down and restrictions lift to allow more people at your wedding ❤️

In the exact same boat. I'm having a VA wedding in late-April rescheduled from April 2020. If it stays at 10, it's just parents/siblings/nieces. I guess it depends if you're willing to potentially reschedule again. I know this is it for us cause it's either lose all the deposits or only some of them and work with the vendors that we can who can still work with limited guests.

I also intend on asking our venue what their stance will be since it's a private home. But as stated above vendors usually give 30 days or so for final numbers so you could hold out and see. Best of luck
