Help

Having a very hard time trying to find a venue in Puerto Rico where my parents currently live. I thought it would be a lot easier then this. Wedding is, as of now, for 9/19/21. A lot of the venues are clearly out of budget and just not my style at all. We are pretty simple and not to set on sit down fancy plates dinner. Would love a nice ceremony and after some good authentic Spanish food and music. That’s all and believe it or not I am unable to find this. Everything is just so upscale and not kid friendly or simple people friendly (if that makes sense) anyone have their wedding in PR and have any ideas.

I hate to say this and even though your wedding is over a year out maybe consider our locations just because of the recent disasters in Puerto Rico. I saw a bride on here devastated that her wedding I think this coming February was basically called off because of all the recent earthquakes there. Sadly Puerto Rico has been getting a wave of bad natural disasters. At least have a back up plan as September is a big hurricane month. With that said I was at one point considering having a destination elopement there and I'm not sure if it's your style but look it ponce and look for the serrailles Castle as it looked beautiful in the price wasn't that bad. Another place that has a decent elopement packages Hotel El convento. Also I would check the ideas tab here and look at real weddings and look at Puerto Rico. A bride a few months ago posted her pictures and her day was lovely like that is a day that I would love to have. Basically she rented a villa And had the ceremony there and it was looking over the ocean and then basically you can just cater out. I think I could be cost-effective and if your whole family are people you are invited to stay there then you can ask them to chip in to pay for the villa and then you and your fiance can just take care of the food and whatnot.

My wedding is in Puerto Rico in April at one of the beach resorts in San Juan. Definitely stick with locations on the north side (Metro area). This area has had virtually no earthquake damage.

Also: contact a travel agent. It costs you nothing for them to do the research and they can also help you negotiate with your venue. They usually get a commission from the property you end up booking with.
