Help with Wording for Website

Suzanne, on April 9, 2022 at 4:27 PM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 5

Hey everyone, what is a good way to say that we do not want invited guests to share information about our wedding on social media? I thought that was a given thing and I didn't think I needed to straight up tell people not to, but my future sister in-law proved me wrong by posting a photo of our invitation on her social media. It was up for an entire day before we saw it.

That's ridiculous that she posted that. I doubt other people would do that, but you might want to put a statement in the FAQ page if you have one.

You could word it as, "To help keep our event secure, please refrain from sharing any details about our wedding on social media."

We put a section on our website's FAQ page about taking pictures and posting to social media. Ours was more about not taking pictures/ having phones out during the ceremony, but you could word it as "in order to maintain the privacy of our event, we kindly request guests not post information about our wedding to any social media platforms."

Thank you, everyone! I've amended the website. Here's to hoping people follow it. Fingers crossed!
